Why is G+ a #ghosttown ?
I've started coming to the realization as to why its just isn't going to work, hear me out. On my trip to Brooklyn this past week, I was surrounded with the noise of, you guess it +Instagram
. Everyone has one, every business has one, and its super important to be in on it because of that fact. Silly filters aside, I can publicly post a shitty picture of anything with a couple hashtags, and easily rack up 8 likes over the course of an hour or so. All of that with only 5 friends following me, so imagine if I had a similar count to this G+ account, ~400.Instagram has an active user community, actively checking, actively posting, and actively liking
Now getting back to +Google+
, it does not. I don't care what facts you guys are throwing out there trying to say this niche community is a vast jungle of information and wealth, there is just no user engagement on this platform. Adding youtube support was probably the best idea G+ has implemented, but is way more scarier than useful. Most of my user engagement on G+ comes from youtube links I posted ages ago.
So voice your opinions, showoff your pictures, share your articles. Don't be disappointed when nobody returns the favor, unless you are +George Takei
or someone else important...
