Space prisons are a huge part of science fiction, because eventually we'll run out of places on Earth to put our worst criminals. Mass Effect 2 features a prison ship.

+Matt Snyder Thanks for the heads up. I can`t wait to put the kids to bed while at the cottage this summer to get my eyes into Consider Phlebas. I already know I`m going to love it . The last book i read was ender`s game and I liked it but I was surprised that it was such a cult making novel. Have a great summer!!!

Story
Tagline
I write about science, culture, and the future.
Introduction
Currently I am the tech culture editor at Ars Technica. Previously, I was the editor-in-chief of Gizmodo and the founding editor of io9. I'm the author of Scatter, Adapt and Remember: How Humans Will Survive a Mass Extinction (Doubleday, 2013). My first novel comes out from Tor in 2017.

My articles have appeared Wired, Popular Science, New Scientist, The Believer, San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Washington Post, Technology Review, and other wonderful places. I like it when people disobey authority for great justice. Sometimes I use the word "fuck" in a headline.
Bragging rights
I have a very nuanced analysis of the movie Frankenhooker.
