Last but not least, this is @hautehal's Halima Sadia.

From: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Halima is 20 year old international student currently residing in Ottawa. She's now in her 3rd year at the University of Ottawa.

What does Fashion mean to you?

- To me, fashion means expressing yourself. Some people are good with words and they express themselves that way. I do it with fashion.

No matter where you come from or what you have been through, I believe fashion unites people.

I always tell my friends and my viewers/readers that "It's not about who you are wearing but how you wear it."

What's your styles?

- Growing up, I always wanted to do whatever my older brother did even when it came to dressing up.

So I have always dressed sporty and tomboyish but I realized that I have been going for classic or chic looks lately. To be completely honest, I wouldnt really like to label my self with a certain style because I believe in dressing according to how you feel.
So everyday I am something different.

Fashion Inspiration:

- Current fashion inspiration is @gigihadid (she rocks my favourite styles - sporty and chic).

What fashion item can you not live without?

- My watches.

I have watches from @michaelkors @katespadenyc, @guess and @marcjacobs.

They are all of different colors/metals so everyday I have to match my watch to my outfit and I can't leave my house without any of my watches.

Favorite place to shop in Ottawa?

- @zara definitely, but I can't resist @jcrew, @HM, @forever21, @sirensfashion or @dynamitestyle either.

How can we as community, better showcase Ottawa's Fashion Scene?

- I definitely think we need to have more Fashion related events open for a younger crowd and for fashion shows, we should not only have size zero models but models of every shape and colour.

Fashion is not supposed to be restricted.

This way we can attract positive attention.

Introducing the face of @thatgirlliya: Here's Liya Huang!

From: Bei Hai, China

19 year old Liya is your happy go-lucky outgoing kind of girl; Embracing all things fun and exciting.

"Asian and proud" but she specifies, "[It's] not because I’m Asian, but because I’m me. That’s one thing that I’ve spent a lot of my life trying to learn and finally embracing."

Originally from the city of Bei Hai (near Guang Zhou) Liya immigrated here at the age of 3, thanks to her mom, who "inspires me but drives me up the wall."
"My roots are Chinese but I was raised at an early age in a western world."

She's currently going to the University of Ottawa, Specializing in marketing.

What does fashion mean to you?

"Fashion has helped me discover and express myself. It has helped me introduce myself without even speaking, leave an imprint without even trying, and most importantly it’s helping me put together the pieces of my puzzle of a life without hesitating. There are many things in my life that I’m in love with, and fashion sits comfortably in my top 5.

Fashion to me is a mean for self-expression; it builds confidence and brings passion my life. What I have learned from fashion has set the foundation for many other aspects and self-growth in my life. It also is something that I use to stand out, I do dare to be different and I love it."

What's your style?

"Dynamic-Balanced-Edgy-Girly-Sporty-Badass-Sexy-Feminine-Ever Changing-Gold Detailed & Sometimes flat-out ridiculous."

Fashion Inspiration:

@songofstyle @zendaya @weworewhat and many others.

She gets inspiration from @tumblr & @instagram.

Also as a former Zara employees, she naturally pieced outfits together in my head. "God I love Zara."

What fashion item can you not live without?

- My gold watch.

Favorite place to shop in Ottawa?

@zara & @forever21: In terms of trendy items and great prices, they do an AMAZING job.

I also love @americanapparel pieces from there that I bought 5 years ago I still wear.

I know that’s 3, but you’re not going ask a parent who their favourite child is and expect one answer, am I right?

How can we as a community, better showcase Ottawa's fashion scene?

"Don’t be afraid to express yourself style-wise! If you like something, then WEAR IT.

Don’t be afraid to have eyes on you, own it. As well, don’t be afraid to create art of any sort, fashion and art are often interrelated.

Go to fashion events in Ottawa, the more people the merrier, the more people the more events. I think how to better the fashion scene as a community we should start individually, the more you expand and improve your personal style, the more you will love fashion for what it is, the more you’ll want to show everyone else."

Introducing the woman who brings body to @capitalcitycurves: Erin Coleman!

From: Cornwall

Loving and living in Ottawa, Ontario, Erin is a 30 something, tall, plus sized, fashion blogger who runs 'capitalcitycurves.com'.
"I love a pug and drive a bug. I'm passionate about fashion, family and friends (in that order)."

She's all about body positivity. "I love my curves and my height and hope I can encourage other women to embrace their own beauty!"

Erin came to Ottawa for college, then left for a couple years to live and work abroad in London UK, but returned in '07 & has been here ever since.

Now working as Graphic Designer, she says, "Creativity and expressing myself through tangible things like fashion has always been my thing."

• What does Fashion mean to you?

- When I was a child I loved to draw, paint and create. Since becoming a professional in the creative field the last thing I want to do when I get home is sit down! So fashion has become an outlet for me to express myself creatively in a more physical way.

• What's your style?

- Because I use my style to express myself, it isn't always the same. I love asking myself "how I feel today" and "how do I want the world to perceive me".

As a graphic designer I know all to well that we really do judge books by there covers.

I use fashion to express how I'm feeling; show the world who I am, who I want to be and how I want to be treated.

Sometimes its fun and kooky, neutral and clean or dark and serious. I like to have fun with interesting pieces, prints, textures or colours; in a grown woman kind of way."

• Fashion Inspiration:

Drawing inspiration from places she's been, Erin has a big love for UK's fashion scene.

Some of her fave fashion icons are @adele
"I just love her mix of modern and vintage; Always classy and sexy."
@alexachung, and bloogers like @shirleybeniang @samanthamariaofficial& @taneshaawasthi

• What fashion item can you not live without?

- A basic white button down shirt. It's so versatile, Half tucked into boyfriend jeans or fully-tucked into high-waisted skirts; I definitely can't live without this item!

• Favorite place to shop in Ottawa?

- I have to honestly say any thrift store will do me. I find the most interesting pieces while thrifting. The thrill of finding something vintage and one-of-a-kind is exhilarating!

• How can we as community, better showcase Ottawa Fashion?

- I would love to see a fashion district that supports Canadian designers and a fashion week in Ottawa, that is inclusive to all shapes and sizes!

The girls who bring the SOUL to @whimsicalsoles: Nancy & Bolu!

From: Bolu- Cambridge, Nancy- Vancouver

They met 4 years ago during Frosh Week at University of Ottawa; Bonding over their mutual love for style and hot Asian popstars.

Right now, they're finishing up their last year & start their jobs in the public sector in the New Year.

"Blogging is our creative outlet since our 'day jobs' are far less glamorous!"

• What does fashion mean to you?

B- "Fashion is a fun way to express myself through my personal style. It's fun and I love that it's always evolving."

N- "Fashion means being comfortable in my own skin. Mind you, I don't mean rolling around in sweats. It's about achieving a balance between style and function; looking good and feeling good!"

• What's your style?

While being mindful of Ottawa weather, Bolu's style tends to change but she lean towards a sophisticated casual style.

Go-to Palette: Black & White, or Rich Warm colours.

She loves blazers and jackets. "No outfit of mine is complete without one."

And Nancy's all about the monochromatic & minimalist looks.

Although sometimes, she'll surprise people by pulling out a sequined, bedazzled, or bright-coloured dress.

• Fashion Inspiration:

@badgirlriri is Bolu's ultimate fashion icon. As for Nancy, "It changes all the time! There was a while back when I was obsessed with everything Olivia Pope." Although she says it's since dialed down to a more 'healthy admiration'.

As well, they both admire the bloggers they follow on @instagram

• What fashion item can you not live without?

B- A good quality black leather jacket. It will never go out of style, goes with every outfit, and gets better with age.

N- The perfect purse, preferably leather and in the colour black. I'm particular about bags (and how many pockets it must have and where), and being able to place and find everything I need in my purse is a must.

• Favourite places to shop in Ottawa?

Bolu loves to shop at @cfrideaucentre, "Nancy and I are there so much the sales people have started recognizing us!"

Nancy loves the brand @clubmonaco - "Club Monaco possibly owns my soul.

It is one of the few stores where I catch myself justifying purchasing a $200 sweater (thanks Bolu, for making sure I don't do anything stupid)."

Aside from that, she love thrifting and browsing boutiques in the Byward Market like Milk and Roadtrip.

• How can we as a community, better showcase Ottawa's fashion scene?

"Contrary to popular belief that Ottawa is a bland government town, we really do believe that Ottawa has a sizable stylish population.

Sure, it's no Toronto, Vancouver, or New York, but we think that it's less that 'we don't do fashion' and more like 'there isn't enough exposure'.

Fortunately, the fashion blogging scene in Ottawa has been developing over the last couple of years and we're really starting to highlight the fashionable people and happenings around town!

We believe that by supporting local fashion businesses, connecting and collaborating with bloggers, and generally bringing more awareness to Ottawa fashion events through our little blog is our best way to showcase the Ottawa fashion scene."

Here's the wonderful @rosiexwaugh!

From Ottawa, born and raised- Rosie Waugh is a twenty-three year old plus size fashion/lifestyle blogger (and self diagnosed lipstick addict).

She's currently the assistant manager at a local high end consignment shop.

• What does fashion mean to you?

"Fashion means everything to me. It's a way of expressing yourself, it's a form of art and it's the way the world sees you."

• How would you describe your style?

"Lazy. Effortless. Classic (with a twist). Edgy."

• Who is your fashion inspiration?

- @badgalriri "Forever and always."

• What fashion item can you not live without?

"A nice handbag. My favourite in my collection right now is my @31philliplim medium sized Pashli in the black shark embossed leather. It's a timeless piece and it has a way of making every ensemble look 100x more put together."

• What is your favourite place to shop at in Ottawa?

"Unfortunately a lot of local stores don't carry plus sizes, but I like to support them in any way I can; that typically means buying jewelry and accessories.

All of my clothing comes from big box stores like @hm, @forever21, @hudsonsbay, & @additionelle.

I'm also a sucker for thrift and consignment shopping."

• How can we as a community, better showcase Ottawa's fashion scene?

"I think attendance is a huge issue in Ottawa.

I remember a couple of years ago the city hosted its fair share of fashion events but they always had a pretty low turn out.

I think it's important for the fashion community in Ottawa to go out and just be present at different events or parties throughout the city.

Everything is what you make of it and I'm sure if we all came together, we could put Ottawa on the map as a fashion forward city."

Let's meet Lacey & Kay from @countrymeetcity!

From: Kay- Brockville, Lacey- Eastern Saskatchewan

Quirky yet professional, mixed with a lot of heart, they have a different view on the fashion & lifestyle blog realm here in Ottawa.

Their constant laissez faire attitude allows for beautifully written posts and photos. They're both keen to share their adventures with their Instagram and Twitter audiences on a daily basis.

With college completed (Lacey's now completing her masters) both girls work full time in the legal sector of a not-for-profit air navigation business together.

• What does fashion mean to you?

"Fashion means cultivating an image that we like, and not necessarily always following what the latest runway trends that indicate will be the next trend. To us fashion is a creative outlet, just as painting a picture or creating a craft is. We also do not believe in spending a lot of money on signature pieces."

• What's your style?

"Harmonizing country roots with city living, and as showing off their uniqueness. Upcycling, recycling, thrift shopping has given birth to unique styles because "creating your own clothing or shopping thrift doesn’t allow duplicates."

• Fashion inspirations:
@gwenstefani, Mimi from the Drew Carey Show & their favorite blogger @keikolynn

• What fashion item can you not live without?

L- Classic Wide Brimmed Hat
K- A Scarf

• Favorite places to shop in Ottawa?

L- @hepkatvintage@vintageandbridal@devinefinejewellery

K- @neonstores @milkshopottawa

• How can we as a community, better showcase Ottawa's fashion scene?

"Let’s face it Ottawa is a small town stuck in a city body and full of bureaucrats, nerds, and techies.

We know a good proportion of Ottawa-dwellers go to the mall and buy the classic brand names and drab pieces for their wardrobe.

We as bloggers can encourage people to shop where they want, but the big reason that the other cities get noticed in fashion is because they support local shops and talent. This can include local businesses or local artisans or even local Etsy shops, hiring local professional models or bloggers.

I think we are on the right track, and we as bloggers are making a small and mighty dent and are excited to witness what happens next."
