Excellent Irish pub with live music every day, from folk to rock, from local to worldwide musics. They have cheaper drinks and beer from Monday to Thursday and discount to local students with group discount. A pint of beer or cider is 1.9 pounds.

A busy and friendly pub located on the cities Victoria Street just up from the Grassmarket. Drinks are reasonably priced and the live music really lifts the mood of the pub playing classic Irish folk songs to covers of popular songs.

Im not sure i would describe Finnegans as spacious, Mind you I have only ever been in on a Friday or a Saturday night after 10pm. There has usually been a live band playing Irish folk tunes and covers. The place has always been absolutely packed to the rafters. There is a really good buzz to the place even if it is standing room only

Not an "irish" pub atall, the atmosphere is terrible and the bouncers are rude and hate the irish. would recommend the three sisters over this any day

Probably the best Irish pub in Edinburgh. Great atmosphere in the place which gives it genuine Irish charm. They regularly have live Irish music playing and the place is always rammed at the weekends. On busy weekends when there’s rugby on or in spring/summer during the stag/hen party season then it can be too busy and can be difficult to get served. Drinks are quite pricey but it tends to be visitors to Edinburgh that come here rather than locals. For that reason you can often get blazing idiots in here but the bouncers are quite strict so they're not too bad at keeping the tw*ts out. Definitely one of the most lively bars in Edinburgh.

What's the point of not using the big screen on a Thursday night for an important event as Europe League? Shame that such a nice place fails for having staff so rude, honestly.

I'LL NEVER BE BACK! Here's why. My pal and I,with our sons watched Ireland play Wales Sat.8th Feb.2014. Liked the situation, decided to stay to watch Scotland v England. Two of us went for a quick bite, and let the other two do the same. Other 2 got back just after the game had started. Were refused admission, despite their seats were waiting. Luckily a bouncer let us know they were not getting back in, so we all had to leave. Afternoon ruined! Customer service ok if you don't mind being treated like cattle.

Such a contrast to any other venue, the Door man were confrontational for no reason, had little man syndrome so making up for their height problem with a serious attitude problem, just appalling, stay away, so many other places to choose from where you are welcomed with a friendly greeting, some day soon they will encounter someone less tolerant and get their just deserts ! only wish I could be there to witness it !!
