What is a broken car strut?

A strut combines the function of a shock absorber with the ability to support sideways loads while supporting the vehicle.

This is why your ride is cushioned or fluid vs bouncy. When a strut goes bad it can completely disable the vehicle and cause damage to other parts of the chassis system. Most manufacturers recommend replacing the struts (or shocks) at 75,000 Miles or every 5 years. This repair should be done in pairs (both sides of the vehicle and is easily done in a day.

Below are pictures of a broken strut. Luckily this happened in a parking lot and not on a highway.

Why Does My Honda Brakes Make Noise and Vibrate?

Why does my car vibrate when i brake?

We usually find the Brake Rotors to be the most common cause of a brake pulsation. As you can see in the picture below, this rotor is clearly warped. What causes a brake rotor to warp? Being too thin, caliper or caliper slides not releasing properly causing excessive heat, riding the brake, driving down hill holding the brake for a long period of time... Many things can cause a warped rotor. Come by Lee Hill Auto Service and let us check your brakes for free!

It’s Not How It Used To Be…

In the 60’s and 70’s you could purchase a new car for around $3,500. You got about 100,000 miles out of it and then to the junk yard it went.

Now a day, we are spending $20,000-$50,000 or more on a new vehicle! We definitely want to get more than 100,000 miles out of it right? You want to get 3, 4 or 500,000 miles out of it at least right?

How do you do it? Protect your Investment with Proper Maintenance!

Proper Maintenance of all the fluids!
Just changing the oil isn’t enough.

Every 30,000 miles a complete fluid exchange of all components is needed.
• Transmission Fluid Exchange
• Anti-Freeze/Coolant Fluid Exchange
• Power Steering Fluid Exchange
• Brake Fluid Exchange
• Differential Fluid and Transfer Case Fluid on 4 wheel drive vehicles
• Fuel Injector Service and Service Throttle Body
• Rotate and Balance Tires, Check Alignment, Air and Cabin Filters.
• And of course: Replace Brakes, Tires, Timing Belt, Spark Plugs, Shocks, Struts, Fan Belts and Hoses as Required or Needed.
We at Lee Hill Auto Service use BG Products. It is our belief that these products work the best and we have been using them for over 30 years.

We have done many 30k services and our customers are amazed how much better the vehicle feels, runs, idles and even improved fuel mileage.

Proper Maintenance will protect your investment and puts more resale value back into your vehicle! Ask us about it today!

We are your Dealership Alternative!
