The psychology behind these results are pretty interesting to consider. Cognitive dissonance with a touch of greed and self entitlement maybe?

Sometimes it's easier to simply stand behind the words of another, and to that effect...

Richard Dawkins, I choose you!

Richard Dawkins: "'Guns don't kill people, crazy people kill people.' Can you believe anyone could be so STUPID as to trot that out, yet again? Every country has its psychopaths. In the US they have guns. Thank you NRA. Thank you cowardly politicians of both parties who give in to the NRA."

Read more about the effectiveness of gun control here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/18/opinion/the-gun-challenge-strict-laws-work.html
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/18/opinion/after-newtown-mourning-outrage-and-questions.html

I don't personally believe that trotting out 'guns don't kill people, people kill people' automatically defines the speaker as stupid. However, I certainly can't pretend it's an argument I respect on either a rational or moral basis.

+Aaron Cross, I'm not going to dignify that question with an answer.

However, feel free to express yourself!

Gumtree is a local start-up that really captures Australia's trading post culture and takes it online in the most authentic way. It just takes a short while to realise how it works, and once you do, it's a great (and money saving) tool to have.

Oh, a fellow creamy white man doesn't understand contemporary theater. How extraordinary. He then irrationally attaches this to a global feminist agenda, and we've all had a good laugh for the day.

+Kenneth Lydall But it's just screaming, there is no talent involved. They aren't singing, they aren't even acting.
There are certain rules to those types of things that you kind of have to follow if you want anything worthwhile, regardless of your racial defects or gender.

As I am not allowed to comment on the NRA's website, I'll comment here.

I'd certainly be glad to be rid of industries that foster hate, misery, conflict and murder from my state! Much better to focus on industries that actually produce something of value.

Several traditionally anti-gun states, plus Colorado, have enacted laws that have led to an exodus of gun manufacturers to more friendly climes — with anti-gun states losing the significant tax revenue and jobs these companies provide.

In other news, a small Texas School district is likely to allow Teacher's to carry concealed guns at school.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,404721,00.html

""When you make schools gun-free zones, it's like inviting people to come in and take advantage,""
- Superintendent David Thweatt

I ask that one takes a moment to consider both the logic and morality behind Mr. Thweatt's position. Furthermore, having considered that, considered the world view required to hold these views.

It must be a very frightening world.

PC DIY Box Hill
2 Cambridge Street, Box Hill VIC 3128
This is easily the best PC shop I have ever been to. Year after year, they maintain the lowest prices for the highest quality goods, with excellent and genuine service. The owner once even dissuaded me from spending more money at his shop because he believed that a less expensive set of products would better suit my needs at the time. He proved to be correct!

I think if you shop around Boxhill you might be able to find minutely cheaper deals, but the $1 or $2 you spend, ( and that's on a purchase of $200+ !), ensures excellent service, helping you get the right thing. So it's really worth it.

I could rage on about how good this place is, but I think you get the picture :P

I had my best food and toilet experience of Southern Ethiopia here! I went in 2007. It had real toilets, and a very comfortable area to relax and eat food. The climate in the rift valley is considerably hotter than the highlands which adds to the comfort of relaxing with great food and beer. Many interesting tribal people's use this spot as a rest area as well, creating incredible cultural and trade interactions.

Firstly, the coffee is good. The coffee is really good, and it's fair trade. Then, the staff are genuinely nice and competent, the selection of food is extensive and caters to all needs and tastes, and it's delicious. I was incredibly impressed by this business from the ground up, and confidently recommend it to everyone who should happen to pass by Emerald Town.
