The food was very disappointing. The bread looked nice and came to the table warm but the inside was undercooked and not the way that makes your inner child happy just undercooked. Both meals were not cooked well, I had the short ribs which were claimed to be "fall off the bone tender" but were not nearly there. My friend had the 40 clove garlic chicken but the chicken was overcooked and tasted more of the crispy skin which was not to bad by itself but the chicken below was very dry and the tast of the skin was stronger than the spices below. The chicken was served with a sauce and we figured the garlicky goodness had to be in there but when tasted the sauce was overpowering citrus and took away the one good part of the chicken... the crispy skin who's flavor was no match for the lemon ("garlic") sauce. And is such the eater was at an impasse as the chicken was so dry it was hard to eat without the sauce but when dipped in the sauce all one could taste was lemon. This is all ignoring the fact that it was a 40 clove garlic chicken but it seemed to have half a teaspoon of garlic powder in the whole dish. I could never recommend this restaurant as at the price it is not a bargain and the taste does not justify the splurge I have had better experiences with kfc grilled chicken than we did with the much more expensive alternative that this place offered us.

The food came way over salted and several items looked to have been sitting for a while by the time they came out.

Would you like some Italian food with your salt? I know this is a chain restaurant, and tons of sodium is the norm at most places. However, Carrabba's is probably one of the worst offenders. I've been here several times and consistently have the experience of waking up at 2am after eating here needing to pour a gallon of water down my throat. So yeah, consistency is probably what Carrabba's does best. Meaning, it's pretty much exactly the same experience no matter which location you visit. It's a known quantity, very predictable. For some people this trumps being adventurous and trying the family owned establishment down the street. Of course that is your decision. I'm using the term loosely when I refer to this place as Italian food, since it is the chain interpretation of what most Americans think Italian food is. You will enjoy the low light and exposed brick decor as you dip your bread in the supplied olive oil and vinegar, just like the Italians do. So if you like "Italian" food and your choice is between Carrabba's and Olive Garden this is probably the better choice. Just remember to keep a jug of water at your bedside.
