If you have a chance to eat here, do not pass it up! My sister suggested that we eat here one night while we were in Nashville on vacation with our mom. It was a Saturday evening around 6 pm, and I wasn't too excited about it initially, assuming that there would be a long line that wouldn't be worth it. There was about an hour-long wait when we arrived at the hostess' stand, but instead of having to stand there and wait, they took one of our cell phone numbers and said they would text when a table was ready, leaving us free to walk around downtown Nashville and make the most of our time! When we got back to the restaurant, we were promptly seated, and, since the band that was on stage at the time was more than halfway through their set, the hostess waived the $15/person cover charge. I wish I remembered the name of the band that was playing, because they were INCREDIBLE. It was some of the best blues music I've ever heard. It was hard to even concentrate on the food - which, by the way, was delicious! This place is definitely worth the stop. It's affordable and has a great atmosphere. It was one of my favorite parts of the week we spent in Nashville, and if I'm ever down there again, I'm absolutely going to eat here again!

On March 30, 2016 I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, a Wednesday night about not the busiest night...(one of the waiters was actually the musician to show you how light the crowd is on Wednesday.) At any rate, I ordered the sandwich, half an hour later it comes out cold. No big deal. It can happen. So I send it back...another half hour goes by...finally I talk to the manager, ask her to take it off the check. Never ended up eating my sandwich. When the check came the sandwich was from the check but we had been overcharged for another item. If you are vacationing as we were, do yourself a favor and head on down the road for real entertainment and food that actually comes to the table. I am still amazed!

Service was awful. Food disappointing.. music disappointing. With so many great venues to choose from in Nashville, don't waste your time here.

'Chris Rock' guy singing Soul Man is just painful. No soul just screeching. Not pleasant. The rest of the house band was great. Motown is good but not BBKing....not like this..not this guy.... waiting for better with ear plugs in.

This place used to be a "must visit" when traveling to Nashville. The food used to be AMAZING and the service was also great. It has gone DOWNHILL!! The music was good tonight, but the food was very disappointing and the service was mediocre at best. The gumbo could have been out of a can and isn't as dark and smoky as I remember. Also, the ribs were burned, dry and very fatty. The sweet smoky signature taste I remember and came here for doesn't exist anymore. Finally, there were few baked beans, mostly just sauce, and the cornbread muffin (which I didn't eat) looked like a little yellow hockey puck... not a muffin at all. Finally, as far as service goes, I asked the waiter a few questions about the menu and he literally just shrugged... no answer. With all the great music venues in Nashville and SO MUCH better food joints, I WOULDN'T WASTE MY TIME AT BB KINGS.

The service was horrible! We ordered drinks and they were not served in the take home glass as advertised and on top of that they were watered down and gross. The waitress was extremely rude we asked for a little more time to look over the menu and she ignored us for about 15 minutes. Mind you there was only one other table in her section. You can tell only tourist come to the restaurant probably because the locals know better. Needless to say we left. The only good thing about the place is the music. I wouldn't go back or recommend anyone else go.

Finally got around to come here last month, after having heard that it was great from several friends. Actually came here as a part of a HUGE group, (40ish) with a lot of coworkers. It was a great environment to talk and eat, but at the same time listen to the music played live, which I'm happy to say was not country.... definitely a nice change of pace from the usual downtown places in Nashville. Anywho, I ordered a dish, I forget what it was called, but it was essentially a large serving of macaroni and cheese with a tasty fried piece of chicken. Now that sounds pretty simple, but some friends suggested it, and MAN am I glad they did. The macaroni and cheese has this delicious non-standard flavor, maybe since it was white (not yellow) and appeared to be made with different cheeses.... Eithery way, it was tasty, as was the chicken, which despite being fried and crunchy on the outside, it was juicy and tender on the inside. Overall, this place is awesome for large parties, can be a nice relaxing environment or social, and its refreshing to have a popular place in downtown Nashville that plays blues instead of country music. Would come back.
