Kona is the "Worlds Oldest Skatepark" as listed in the 2014 edition of Guinness World Book of Records. Established in 1977 Kona has been a consistent leader in the skateboarding, BMX and Inline Skate communities. With over five acres of terrain, Kona is also considered one of the worlds largest skateparks. It features two vert ramps, competition street course, mini-spine ramp, competition kidney pool, and vintage skate areas including a massive bowl with six foot vertical tombstone, J-Run and the infamous downhill Snake Run. The entire park is featured in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 video game and park owners Martin Ramos and his mother Helen Ramos are characters. Currently, Kona is managed by the second generation of the Ramos Family including Martin Ramos III, Laurie Ramos (wife) and their children: Cassidy, Roxanne and Scarlet.
