The Cambodia Ministry of Planning's Monitoring And Evaluation: An Approach To Strengthen Planning In Cambodia provides a useful introduction to basic RBM tools for planning, and some practical guidelines on data presentation, which could be applied not just in national planning but in programme and project planning in many countries. It deserves a wider audience, but it is buried deeply in some arcane and difficult to find location on the Ministry of Planning website.

Many development aid agencies use standard indicators for results, in an attempt to make agency-wide reporting easier. But there is a danger that forcing these indicators on development professionals working at the project level, will produce indicators which are useless for describing project-level results.

The German Development Institute has produced a detailed, sometimes complex, but useful analysis of how different agencies use standard indicators.
