Hi Karl. A question I have isn't directly related to your lesson plans, but instead to the process your district is using to align instruction with CCSS. For example, when I read CCSS, I see an explicit list of math standards students should learn in 6th grade. When I read CCSS, I see an explicit list of math standards students should learn in grades 9-12, however courses and grade levels at the high school level are not dictated. One might come to the conclusion "Algebra 1" as we previously knew it is no longer. It would be up to each district (or state?) to determine which standards students should be learning during the first high school credit bearing course (perhaps formerly known as "Algebra 1")....with Appendix A (http://www.corestandards.org/assets/CCSSI_Mathematics_Appendix_A.pdf) serving as a conversation starter. As a curriculum guy currently struggling through the process I'm anxious to learn more about how your district/building/state handling this shift. Are you able to share any insights into the broader CCSS 9-12 standards to courses shift?
