Wedding Photographer | Jennifer and Richard at Galagos
We started with Jennifer’s boudoir shoot before she jumped into her dress and we started the portrait session – we finally managed to get into the purple bathroom :-) Then if was off to the guys, Richard had been ready for ages and also pretty relaxed. He is very confident so shooting his portraits was really easy, like having a model for a groom.

e-session | Michele and Jarrid
The fact that Michele and Jarrid arrived wearing things that looked like they had planned it must mean they are on the same wavelength :-)

E-session | Jessica and Dave
When Jessica started talking about the e-session she mentioned that both she and Dave were “horsey” people, which immediately started me thinking about some cool photo options for Jessica (But more about that in a later post i hope).

Wedding photography | Evan and Vanessa at Shepstone Gardens
With two ceremonies, Evan and Vanessa’s wedding was going to be an interesting one. The first being at Saheti and the second at Shepstone Gardens meant a bit of travelling, but that is what makes life interesting

Diep in die Berg wedding: Chantell and Gerrit
I was booked 3 or 4 weeks ago by Gerrit, I did not know the full story, but it turns out a previous couple of mine are friends with Gerrit and Chantell and when he told her that he fired his photographer after seeing their e-session pictures she said “Have you seen my photographs!” and that was all it took, I was hired the next day without so much as a meeting. Thanks for trusting me Gerrit :-)

Wedding photography: Olivia and Harry
I am so used to bigger venue weddings, that I am always a little nervous for a wedding held at someone’s home. Having said that however, most of the home or smaller venue weddings have a more hands on feel and the details are so much better as they have literally been made by hand with love :-)
So, I needn’t have been concerned, because it was another beautiful hand made wedding that greeted me when I arrived. That and Olivia’s dad trying to sort out the last minute things that always crop up on a wedding day held at your house.

Wedding photographer | Susan and Bennie
Just like the last Sheraton wedding I shot, the décor was really amazing, apparently there were about 600 candles, I am sure there were truckloads of flowers – it made for an amazing scene when the guests were ushered in.

Perhaps it was because i didn't shave that morning, maybe my music was too 80's, whatever it was we and no matter what we did, there were no smiles from the lovely Carmen.

Wedding photographer | Rowena and Pravin at Memoire:
They say dynamite comes in small packages – I think they were referring to Rowena. I don’t think she slowed down for an hour. And that was for the year before the wedding after she booked me:-) And on the day is was all go, go go. She had her dream wedding and that was...

Another great shoot this winter was the boudoir marathon held at a local hotel. I think the shots came out really nicely, the combination of their personality and a great location just worked so well....

Wedding photography: Sami and Marc
Before a Portuguese wedding I am thinking to myself that it is just going to be a crazy day. Lots of family, lots of noise, lots of love. Check, check, check – times a billion, everything I expected and more.

Introduction

I am a photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa - i make my living shooting everything from weddings, contemporary family portraits to corporate PR and events, as well as some commercial advertising work.

I am lucky enough to have lived and breathed creativity, design and photography for more than 18 years. It is not my job, it is who i am.

None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for amazing clients who have invited me into their lives. I have been to beautiful weddings in SA as well as Malawi, Botswana, Mozambique. I've had crazy helicopter flights, been in the middle of a huge herd of cows, stood in a freezing river till the light was right all in pursuit of "the shot".

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy what you see, i hope it inspires you enough to keep coming back. I would like to encourage you to leave a comment and if you have a question just ask.
