My "Only in Boston" guide has been highly commended at the British Guild of Travel Writers' Awards 2018 staged at the Savoy Hotel in London. There was stiff competition from publishing giants such as Bradt Travel Guides, so as an independently written and published work, the book did very well. It is great to be acknowledged by one's peers in this way. +Only In Guides/The Urban Explorer +British Guild of Travel Writers www.onlyinguides.com

Halloween in Boston - the American city is the home of literary horror. Edgar Allan Poe was born here and was inspired to write "The Cask of Amontillado" wherein men take revenge by burying another alive. A sculpture near Boston Common shows him with an evil-looking raven. H. P. Lovecraft also spent time here writing "Pickman's Model" about something ghastly in the cellar of a missing artist.
