I had to share LIsa's recipe. It looks amazing

Have you ever had hot layered hummus?
I did in Istanbul and was blown away!  It's really special.  I've been working hard to recreate the recipe - it's on my blog - creamy hot hummus on the bottom - a delicious chopped salad of cucumbers, radishes and sun-dried tomatoes on top.
Turkish Hummus dip, served hot, topped with a layer of pine nuts, chopped radishes, cucumber and sun-dried tomatoes.

Thanks Margarita Restrepo for sharing this important information

We are eating Aluminum, and other brain offenders!

Aluminum is a known neurotoxin. According to Centers of Disease Control, the average adult in the US consumes about seven to nine mg of aluminum per day in food, and a lesser amount from air and water.
Aluminum-containing products are likely fueling the rise in Alzheimer's disease. People with aluminum toxicity display many of the same symptoms as those with dementia, Parkinson’s, ADHD, autism, and other neurological diseases, and mounting evidence suggests aluminum may play a significant role in the development of those (and other) diseases.
Aluminum can be found in a wide range of consumer products, including:
- Foods such as baking powder, self rising flour, salt, baby formula, coffee creamers, baked goods, and processed foods, vanilla extract, American cheese, coloring, and caking agents
- Drugs, such as antacids, analgesics, anti-diarrheals, and others; additives such as magnesium stearate
- Vaccines—Hepatitis A and B, Hib, DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis), pneumococcal vaccine, Gardasil (HPV), and others
- Cosmetics and personal care products such as antiperspirants, deodorants (including salt crystals, made of alum), lotions, sunscreens, and shampoos
- Aluminum products, including foil, cans, juice pouches, tins, and water bottles
How to avoid it:
Aluminum, as like every other heavy metal (iron, copper), should be avoided at all means.

To avoid ingestion or contact with aluminum toxins, read the label when it comes to anything that has to be ingested.  If a product contains aluminum, skip it.  Opt for natural remedies for anti acid issues.  Changing your diet and avoiding acid forming foods such as dairy, meats, sodas, breads, cakes, etc, will restore the balance, intestinal flora, and acid production levels in your digestive system.  To replace aluminum foil for baking, simply use glass or silicone trays, and baking-safe paper. Canned products can be replaced with products packaged in glass containers instead.
There are plenty of naturally made cosmetics, deodorants, creams, shampoos and soaps that don't contain chemicals or heavy metals. These can be found in natural and holistic stores.

Another amazing appetizer from Lisa Goldfinger

I'm not sure who loves this more - the artist in me or the cook.  I adore rustic foods! The recipe is on my blog.
Naturally sweet cooked squash mixes with goat or blue cheese for a delicious, festive appetizer. Serve with crackers or bread. (this would also make a great vegetarian lunch!)

I admit, I avoided gazpacho for years. I had no particularly good reason. I just couldn’t get past the idea of cold soup. It seems so wrong.
