As a parent that has survived the loss of a child I take very personally that loss when incurred upon someone else. The experience is unique to everyone that endures it, so despite that commonality I, like most, can say that I don't know what that family is going through.
What I do know is that I'm equally grateful for efforts such as this when it comes to other families as I was for efforts regarding the loss to my family. It was the generosity of gamers (specifically the Fear the Boot forum community) and the activities in gaming that kept me same in the wake of that loss.
I say all of that to say this; your efforts here do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. If this family is anything like I was, the notion that they're a part of a wider and supportive gaming community will mean the world to them at exactly the point when they need it.
