Here are a couple video clips from a recent carotid artery study on an asymptomatic patient without hemodynamically significant stenosis but with a fairly large mobile plaque in the Left Internal Carotid Artery.  A color flash from the motion of the plaque can be noted in the second clip.  While this would seemed inherently dangerous, we have not found much in the literature with regards to the risk of symptoms in this patient.  Once again, the only validated risk is the severity of the stenosis. We would like to have you input.

For a limited time, Virtual Vein Center is offering a promotional special. Take a course for free! When evaluating a patient with ultrasound for chronic venous insufficiency, we measure the duration of retrograde flow or reflux in various vein segments. It seems logical to assume that longer reflux duration is a reflection of more severe disease. That is, someone with 8 seconds of retrograde flow has more severe venous disease than a patient with 1 second of reverse flow. In fact, this is not the case and you can find out why in this free course. Go to:  https://www.virtualveincenter.com/about/welcome-virtual-vein-center
for instructions. From our home page, it is the welcome page under the "About" tab from the home page.
