I just saw a pretty interesting demo at +System76 of +elementary AppCenter with built-in +GNOME Shell search, in Pop!_OS.

Open source is fun. ☺

HiDPI icon support has officially landed in Artful (and other distros), so I'm pretty excited about that. Super easy to add HiDPI support if you're already shipping SVG icons. Check it out (plus other tips) https://medium.com/elementaryos/developer-tips-shipping-application-icons-ad024666f207

I just found my new favorite Android app. FastHub is a beautiful, modern Android app that does everything* you can do from the GitHub website on a desktop, but better suited to a phone or tablet.

It's also just a great demonstration of a complex app. It takes Material Design seriously and delivers an impressively smooth experience around a lot of data.

*Okay, Projects support is being worked on, but I'm optimistic.

This has been awesome! There are even more screens we're working on and they look just as good. We've been working through the UX and designs for a new OS installer, and are now making strides with the front-end. This is code, not mockups. 😉

It's also completely stylable with GtkCSS, meaning companies like +System76 can brand them a bit more if they'd like with illustrations, animation, etc.
A little sneak peek at some of the work we've been doing this week on the new installer!

Nest definitely knows hardware.
Everything about the +Nest cameras, especially Nest IQ, screams quality. Other cameras don't come close. Maybe +Logitech Logi Circle series.

From packaging to the way the USB cable fits perfectly into the slots on either side to the setup and software as a whole. +Nest dominates.

Just look at the way the +Nest IQ cable fits into the camera. Attention to every detail in hardware design really shows here.
