After sharing my rather soggy story, I've been pondering my relationship with water over on my website in my latest blog post... Why do I love seals and why do sharks terrify me...?

Exploring the deep is not a one time thing; learning how to access that space gave me a new tool for survival.  In this illustration, the Selkies give me my own seal skin so that I can pop it on and head back into the deep water whenever I need to.  As issues come up, as I feel fear or sadness now, I can dive into them and figure out what those emotions are telling me....

The therapeutic effects of dancing are not be underestimated :) Last year, I discovered 5 Rhythms Dancing, which works as a kind of moving meditation.  It was a little intimidating at first, but there are no wrong moves in a 5 Rhythms class... you let your body take over and go with the flow of the music, which takes you through a wave of 5 stages.  It's awesome, amazing exercise and a great way to dance out your stress!

Touch down... I find the sea bed, and it becomes the ground beneath me.  So much more solid than a tight rope or a safety net...

Walking barefoot is a surprisingly therapeutic practice.  Taking my shoes off in the woods, a field and (obviously) at the beach helps me to ground and connect and come back to the present moment.  Even if it is chilly or muddy sometimes!
