I'm putting this link here so I can find it again.  We have a new resident by the name of David, and he needs a pureed diet since he has trouble swallowing.

Feel for your gimpiness, Martina.  My left knee is screaming pain at me this week; neuropathy sucks.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3:1 (King James Version)

Friends, G-Plus, Netizens, lend me your eyes: The holy days leading to the birth of the Savior occur in the month of December, yet there are those who conspire to turn this into a secular holiday strictly for the purpose of selling expensive gifts and to increase your obligations for their profit. To do this, they have continued to encroach earlier and earlier in the year, moving to the day after Thanksgiving in the United States (Black Friday), then putting up decorations earlier and earlier each year. Now these forces wish to obliterate Thanksgiving and turn it into another day of market frenzies, in service unto Mammon.

These forces will not rest until the entirety of Autumn has been repurposed to sell Christmas early and often, and work their part-time, seasonal labor with the minimum wages they can get away with. I say, if you truly wish to return Christ to Christmas, then go against this tide, and return Christmas to December, and let the other months have their own holidays and celebrations. Let not the Bells Jingle or Rock while trick or treating. Remember the sacrifices of Veterans on Armistice Day. Give thanks either in October or November, depending on the nation. Enjoy the harvest, and welcome the Unconquerable Son during the Solstice, where he should be.

Thank you, and remember: Return Christmas to December!

So, a main sequence star interacting with its white dwarf binary companion resulting in a supernova, just not as big a supernova as the Ia.  Okay, got that...  now...  how close do they need to be in order to be a problem?  I only ask because we've got two stars in the stellar neighborhood with white dwarf companions, Sirius and Procyon.  Not that we need to panic, I'm sure...  just don't tell the media.

Right, and the two white dwarf stars are tens of AU away from the main sequence star.  Might even be too far when the main sequence star starts its red giant bloating, so there's still millions of years.  But be quiet, I bet we could sell this as a SyFy movie.

Cooking with Tekle today:  I showed Tekle how to make fried potatoes.  There are many good things I like about cooking with Tekle, to be honest.  I get to explain and teach, which is one of my pleasures.  Talking out what we're doing also helps me focus on what I'm doing, so that helps me wrinkle out mistakes and get creative.  Plus it fulfills my need for human contact, especially since Tekle's a friend of mind.  So, good times, and tasty food.

Tekle's got things down, since he's doing chicken and rice just fine without me, and he used the leftover meatballs in spaghetti sauce just as I suggested.

Now I'm thinking of fried chicken, and I remembered something from an old box of cereal:  Corn flakes.  We can get inexpensive gluten-free corn flakes, and that will be good when I want to do something like a coating for chicken or another batch of gluten-free meatballs.  Shawn isn't so interested in meatloaf, but meatballs are more in line with what she likes.

So, onward and keeping my head together...

I apologize for skipping the ad, but YouTube really shouldn't link up ads that are three times longer than the video.

Also, I'm a crippled man barely able to walk on a flat surface, getting six-pack abs is way down on the list of my priorities.

I enjoy this sort of video, and you're welcome to enjoy your salty licorice.

Also, Cara's facial expressions at certain points is most amusing.

How about I admire you and your work from a comfortable distance, Doctor?  *grin*

And I think the age question is silly.  Whose thirty year old mind/body are we talking?  Because I'd like to keep my mature mind, but I'm a middle aged cripple and I'd prefer to have the body of a thirty year old in peak physical condition.  Wouldn't even worry about what biosex it would be, although if it were female, I would miss my beard.

There already is another term for "Zero-G", and that is Free fall.  Yes, people with parachutes misappropriated the term, but that happens a lot with language.  You might as well get upset about people using contact as a verb.

Huh...  As the author of SCP-937, I found this video when I did a quick Google Search for the SCP.  I was very surprised, naturally, since I'm not a very prolific nor popular author on the site, but I always did like the Walking Sticks.

Thank you for the reading, and I linked it on the SCP Foundation group on Facebook.  If you don't mind a suggestion, you might want to try a practice run or two so that you have a smoother presentation.  Admittedly, I don't think I could do better than you did on a cold reading, and I wrote the article, so I hope you take the suggestion as a helpful critique.  Take care!
