That's why old folks are considered candidates for being wise - cannot remember all those details anymore.

I normally have a hard time with the academic way of addressing subjects, so I was happy to find that presentation being refreshingly lucid.

I'm hardly using Google+ anymore. I wonder why. Well, one reason is that they somehow didn't get it to feel like a place. I go to Facebook, and it feels like everybody's there. Here, I like most of the features better, but Google has failed to make it feel like I'm here with you guys.

I consider myself a non-techie. I don't code or program.  But I came to Google+ to be aware of what high tech and early adopters know or are doing. Certainly not going to get that from Facebook. So I hope you hang in there.

Brilliant speech! His guiding principle: "Creators need an immediate connection to what they create"

This video is one hour long. Recommended to me by Radomir Dopieralsky. It was worth every second that I watched it. Programmers will take special delight in this, but you may find value in it if you are not a programmer, too. Both his work, and his philosophy of principle based living, strike close to my heart. Special thank you to Radomir for the recommendation.

Time to draw maps that take us places. We've had enough hints to know that there are places to go.

Tea House Sequence, part 1: From There to Here

Play Is Resilience
Share your stories. Be liked. Align with group genius. Garden. Deliberate. Transform (start, continue, stop). Iterate. Find your voice. Sing. Find the answer inside the question. Move. Find the new question inside the answer. Move. Trust movement. Attract. Exude judicious unconditional positive regard. Bring about. Extend. Weave. Celebrate.

7bn and five thousand
Everyone is already on the bus. It's a big bus, sometimes confused with being a small planet. Trust that out of confusion, renewal. Now and then allow yourself Bus Stops of relative contentment.

Process is Play, Relationship and Reciprocity
Story, Play, Align, Garden, Ecosystemize (all five are verbs) then from Ecosystemize there emerges a new Story, slightly more inclusive, slightly more evolved, acting, dancing, unfolding through life.

Islands of the Future
Not all memes are created equal. Those memes that are necessary and sufficient for our cocreating our future society, are usually unevenly emerging. This is why you (if you happen to be a member of the Old Guard) need to support people at the Edge. it's how our society evolves.

Old Money, New Initiatives, Rekindling Assets
Old money supporting New initiatives which rekindles and repurposes Existing assets and capital, from which the Old money once emerged, is an essential spiral of Value cocreation. Old, wise people need to support Young people who give a damn. You are either wise, engaged, or connecting between the two. Do your thing, share your story. Thank you.

Imagineering and our Ladders of Inference
Although it is difficult to effect memetic imagineering, it can be done once there's sufficient shared understanding around the ladders of inference involved. Avoid too much short-circuiting your ladder.

Pull
One of our 21st C Literacies, is Memeplex Navigation.
Though our social, cultural and emotional seas threaten, they are merciful. We have repressed them without cause.
(riff on The Tempest, W. Shakespeare)
My personal Pull is two questions, which I have situated sufficiently far into the future: _"We made it? What happened?"_  These two questions are designed to enable a Transition from our Old Narrative, to a beginning convivial set of New Narratives.

Method Card
A method card is a chunk of content catalyzing individual and group genius around which a meme can emerge, evolve and propagate. A well-formed method card can usually also be used in combination with other chunks, forming stories, narratives and tea-house sequences.

Generativity for Coefficacy
In the +ConversationLab  there's ongoing crafting of Method Cards and Decks of Cards, towards scaffolding those structures and processes that serves:
Vehicles for Innovation, Creativity, Transition, Thrivability, Convivial Profitability, Team Learning, Group Genius, Alignment, Tacit/Explicit Conversion, Shared Understanding, Deliberation, Connecting Finite and Infinite Games, Cocreation of Narratives, Smallest Necessary Change for Optimal Thrivability Impact, Culture (re)Design, Getting Us From A to B, from B to A, from There to Here, to Make Sense of Where We Came From, Who We Are, Where We Are Walking, Pathfinding, Boid Rules For Civilization and then some...

Tea-House Sequence
In order to be able to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea in a Japanese Tea House, you need to first remove your shoes. This can be applied in different contexts. A tea-house sequence can also be described as play as process through a given structure. cf Nature of Order, Christopher Alexander. All Tea House Sequences offer paths which affords their own unfolding.

Structures that Serves
A well designed structure is one which aligns a sufficiently inclusive set of vectors, towards a resultant in the general direction of the shared purpose, eventually experienced as a shared pull.

Excellently Crafted Structures Affording Flow
Are often indistinguishable from music. When you find yourself tapping your feet, it means you are engaged in serious play together with convivial memes. Civilization at its best, is Renga, Dance and Generative Ritual.

How to Play - How to Play Well - How to Play Well with Others
Play is the resilience out of which unconditional positive regard and an infinitesimally small willingness to accept being yourself.

This is very important. We've gotta count the right stuff. This civilization is going down the drain mainly because the important stuff is being left off the books. Simply starting to count the right stuff would make all the difference.

Simon Wardley originally shared:

Stop Online Piracy NOW!!!

Following the glorious failure of Aliens4SOPA, I have decided to undertake a more encompassing attitude towards copyright by embracing our US friends.

As Aliens, we understand that online piracy is wrong and that we should take further steps to limit it. Hence, we now encourage Congress to undertake not SOPA but SOPN (stop online piracy now!!!!)

Under SOPN, all copyrighted material which is not licensed under creative commons or public domain or an equally free and liberal license (collectively called "public") should be banned from the Internet. By removing all such material which is not publicly licensed, SOPN will kill piracy with one blow as there is nothing to pirate.

Under SOPN, the leaking of material that is not publicly licensed (collectively called "private") to the Internet should be considered as a security breach. The rights holder of this material should be prosecuted for not taking adequate security measures to protect this treasured and private material from distribution.

Under SOPN, the US Congress would encourage :-

* the development of the internet industry and the future jobs that will be created through industries that develop upon this component.

* the development of extensive security systems to protect private material from ever being distributed anywhere.

* the development of new media business models based upon abundance of public material rather than scarcity of private material by making such private material so secure that no-one sees it.

As Aliens, we'd prefer it if those future jobs were in the UK but in an overwhelming act of kindness we're willing to share this future with the US.
