America The Beautiful is an incredible song. The words carry meaning to it and when the words are understood by more people, it can be enjoyed and appreciated that much more. Singing it in people's respective first/native languages isn't so much about celebrating a personal or familial heritage, but the great and wonderful diversity that has always been a part of this country.
For so many people to be singing the patriotic song means that they embrace America as their home and show reverence to their home in a way that means the most to them. No matter where you come from or what language you speak, you have the freedom and opportunity to live a life you yearn for. This American dream varies from person to person and as for the American culture, that too is diverse and isn't just one, easily definable thing. If you travel this country enough, you can see the different, colorful lives people live, each one no less and no more "American" than the next. You can state the history of America, it's dominant English speaking populous, and the history of the song, but to ignore the fact this country changes, always striving to improve through the acts of its citizens, is a disservice to the fact that America retains its greatness, no matter what the times bring.
So if you want to, be proud of your history and be proud of the history of America that you're a part of. #americathebeautiful
