Your average person uses 200 kg of steel per year according to the latest stats. Interesting discussion about how much material we use, but is it really necessary to put the figures in the context of 'imagine you gave birth to an 8 year old made of steel'? Don't get me wrong, I love surrealism but I find it distracting from the real and serious message of the article. Worth a read, all the same.
