Spotlight on GlassFish 4.1: #12 GlassFish Tools for Luna

A new version of the GlassFish Tools (aka the 'GF Eclipse Plugin') has just been released for Luna, the latest and greatest Eclipse version. This version supports both GF 3.1.x and GF 4.1 and is a recommended upgrade as it introduces several UI improvements and fixes various issues.

For upcoming GlassFish 4.0.1, we have decided to greatly simplify the build by only producing 2 zip based distributions: a Web Profile distribution and a Full #JavaEE Platform distribution.

CDI events are a very powerful feature but one aspect of them that surprises many folks is the fact that they are synchronous. CDI spec leader Antoine Sabot-Durand suggests a way to define asynchronous events for next CDI 2.0 version.
