Former factory is now a casual, cafe-style space & patio for omelettes, pancakes, burgers & more.- Google

Waited forever for a table. Hostess was mute. Everytime we would go up to ask where we were on the list she would say just a few minutes. Originally told 30 min wait, after 1 hour we just left. Many vacant tables for long periods of time. Seemed as if they managed it better they could have gotten people in and out faster. Food looked and smelled good, but never got close enough. They could have done twice the amount of business with better staff. I am sure management would not be happy to hear about poor hostess and wait staff on a busy Sunday, with record temperatures in Monterey!

If you have time for the wait, excellent eggs and pancakes. Good coffee.

Being a huge fan of Eggs Benedict First Awakening has a huge variety. My favorite is the Turkey, Tomato and Avocado. Located just around the corner from the Aquarium this is a great way to start your adventure. The Hollandaise Sauce is some of the best i have ever had. I get a side of sauce to dip my potatoes in. Yummy!!!!

Large portions and amazing brunch. Try the waffles and omelets. Right off the bike trail and close to Cannery Row, but tucked away enough that you can avoid crowds. Large outdoor seating area.

On a recent road trip, I had the opportunity to have breakfast at First Awakenings. It's located at the American Cannery Buiding, a little bit hidden. I was overwhelmed by the ample menu, I ended having a coffee and one of the specialty omelettes with sausage, vegetables and cheese. Make sure to share! Everything is delicious, but also comes in huge portions, specially if you order pancakes.

One of my most favorite breakfast places in the world. Excellent food - all the variety you could hope for in a breakfast place while maintaining high quality across the menu. Lovely family owned with excellent service. If you're within 50 miles - go
