Are Sunglasses Necessary When It’s Cloudy?

It’s easy to think that just because the sun isn't out on a cloudy day, you're in the clear as far as wearing sunglasses is concerned. But even on cloudy days and during winter, there is damaging UV light that your eyes are being exposed to. You should protect your eyes all year round, rain or shine, especially to prevent the onset of issues like cataracts and some cancers. Some evidence now shows that UV light affects the eyes even more when you're in your childhood and 20s. UV damage is a lifetime risk, so make sure to protect your eyes properly during all daytime hours.

What Makes Crows Feet Appear
(http://ow.ly/yrBE30nsdoV)

Crow’s feet are an unpleasant sign of aging where wrinkles and fine lines appear at the corners of your eyes. These wrinkles tend to be deeper than other wrinkles, such as on the forehead, because of sebaceous glands and their SouthPortNC on the face. There aren't as many of these glands located around the eyes like there are in the forehead region. A recent study concluded to these findings, while others have negated what was found. Although this research may pave the way for further anti-aging technologies, focusing on healthy lifestyle habits will be your best course of action to prevent the appearance of crow’s feet.

How To Treat Watery Eyes
(http://ow.ly/xZxT30nsdoQ)

Many people suffer with watery eyes to the point where they look like they are crying. This condition, called epiphora, is caused by a lack of tear film drainage, making tears flow out of your eyes onto your face. Yes, tears are necessary, but when they are overflowing, they can be dangerous because of how difficult it becomes to see. Mainly epiphora is caused by blocked tear ducts or excessive tear production. Irritants from chemicals, inflammation, allergies, or more serious concerns such as a corneal ulcer all could be the cause of your watery eyes. Depending on the cause depends on the type of treatment your eye doctor will recommend.

What Causes Glaucoma?

There are new findings from MIT and Massachusetts Eye and Ear that are suggesting glaucoma is caused from an immune response that starts when a person has early exposure to bacteria. This research is opening up opportunities to potentially find a cure. Routine eye exams are important when it comes to glaucoma because the disease offers no symptoms typically in its early stages. Although this research is one step closer to finding a cure, you still need to visit your doctor regularly to ensure your eyes are healthy and glaucoma is caught as soon as possible.

Who Is At Risk For Macular Degeneration?

The most common cause of vision loss for those over the age of 50 is macular degeneration. There are two types of macular degeneration, “wet” and “dry”. The most common form is “dry”, which currently has no known treatment. “Wet” degeneration, however, sometimes responds to injections and laser procedures if treatment begins early. When vision is lost from dry AMD because of the macula gradually thinning, it cannot be restored. It’s important to see your eye doctor as soon as possible if you are over the age of 50 and have common signs of macular degeneration.

Other foods such as carrots or orange fruits contain beta carotene, a type of vitamin that helps maintain overall retina health.

During the winter months, your skin can become dry, flakey, and even show signs of eczema. ❄️ This winter season, change up your beauty regimen by reducing hot showers, drinking lots of water and moisturizing every day. Forget the harsh face masks and alcohol-based toners during the winter months as well. These types of products may make your skin even drier.
