For those of you out of the loop, make sure you check out Double-Fine's Kickstarter and donate at least $15 or preferably $30 at here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/66710809/double-fine-adventure

No, seriously, do it.

Okay, so the previous Vampire game mentioned was apparently inspiring enough that people wanted it to become a reality, so it shall be, I guess.

Anyone willing to be a level-designer, artist or sound-mixer, send me a notice and we'll proceed from there.

Idea-shelter:
I need some ideas here. First of all, what to develop it with. I figure RPGMaker as the tool of choice, since the NWN toolset can't really do everything I want or look as I want. But what version is important too. The ancient, but tride and true RPGMaker 2000, it's better cousin RPGMaker 2003 or the very upgraded RPGMaker XP or the difficult to use and master RPGMaker VX that I've been toying with and finding too constrictive?
Gonna need to find tutorials for this too.

Next is an idea on how to split up the classes. I assume I can change classes of characters mid-game and thus change progression, but should I give the main character several "party members" to act as her multiclass progression or just leave it with the default system forcing the player to switch classes to allow her to pick and chose her abilities as she earns them?

Furthermore, should I change the inventory system to something more magical or still have swords, axes, armors and other such gear, despite it being a completely magic-focused game, with the exception of enemy units?

So, you start out the game waking up, big woop, I bet you have amnesia too.

You begin in a damp, dark, closed spot, you feel trapped, probably buried by something heavy. Your body is limp, but you can tell not all is well. You've probably been bleeding a lot after that stab-wound you took to the chest earlier. Stab-wound? You recall from earlier. You are an adventurer. A woman eloped from her rich background with the mysterious boy to find adventures. Something went wrong. The cold of the steel blade can be felt embedded in your chest. You suddenly stir again. Falling asleep now would be really bad. You struggle loose a bit and manage to free your head. Your arms and legs still feel a bit distant. You manage to get your eye-sigh a bit more adjusted to the darkness. It looks like there is a corpse besides you or above you or below you, you can't really tell.

Your eyes finish adjusting to the darkness and you can tell that it's him. A pang of guilt flows through you and you regain feelings in your arms and legs. With all your strength, you try to struggle free from your bonds. They are soft, but course. More dead bodies? A mass-grave? In desperation you push the bodies aside, burying yourself in dirt and mud. They fill your cavities and blind you. Your instincts tell you that this might kill you and you struggle to push through the dirt. A short time later, your hand isn't digging dirt anymore. You push as hard as you can, with no breath left in your body and struggle to dig your way out. You were certain you could not hold your breath this long when you were just a little princess, but now you feel like you could do anything. Sitting up in the dirt of the newly dug mass-grave, you examine yourself.

Your belongings are mostly gone. Your remaining clothes show signs of damage from being buried, but otherwise are at least left on, a small sign of dignity given someone who failed their mission. Mission? That's right, you and he were sent here on a mission. To kill a monster that was stalking this village. You were not alone. Many other adventurers had come as well. But you had walked into a trap, the monster was the one arranging the event and had caught a bunch of victims for his ghouls. The trap sprung, you and your boyfriend had done your best in exterminating the ghouls, but the monster was a better fighter than any of the ones there. With two blades curved as a bat's wing, he cut your boyfriend down while you were chanting a spell. His sacrifice made sure you survived.

... Didn't it? But the blade in your gut. You examine your wound, expecting to find some sort of relic from the battle past. Your clothes show damage, but your skin is picture clear. Did it heal? How long have you been buried anyway? As you stare up at the moon hanging low in the sky, a memory you can't have had comes to you:

"Come. Find me. I will give you all your answers. Just close your eyes and follow the trail in your heart."

You repeated the command to only receive a single feeling. The feeling of emptiness. Something was wrong and it will be up to you to lead your life from now.
