Many of these fishing boats have just come back from a night of fishing and crabbing out in the Pacific. It's early in the morning and the crews are busy cleaning and maintaining their boats for the next excursion. Prints and a lot more at: http://1-thom-zehrfeld.pixels.com/featured/all-tied-up-thom-zehrfeld.html

This is the "Galloping Goose" ...a cool rail car (motor rail bus)! It was built in 1923 and served to haul folks from Point A to B by rail. It held 14 people. It got its name because it waddled down the tracks and the horn sounded like a goose honk. More info at: http://1-thom-zehrfeld.pixels.com/featured/galloping-goose-thom-zehrfeld.html

"Thunder" is an old fishing vessel (F/V) moored in Newport on the Oregon Coast. Fishing is her pleasure...rain or shine! She is rough and tough but, that's what the fishing business is all about. "Thunder" is a 16x20 original printed on a high quality metal surface.  http://www.saatchiart.com/art/Photography-FV-Thunder/746497/2815469/view

This is "Old Glory" flying early in the morning in Bandon, Oregon on the Southern Oregon Coast!  Off to the right is the Coquille River Lighthouse and the Pacific Ocean. The Bandon Waterfront and Walkway, in a word are "superb"!  The large building here houses an upstairs restaurant and, the small building is a fishing charter service, along with the boat basin. A 16x20 metal print is available at: http://www.saatchiart.com/art/Photography-Old-Glory-In-Bandon/746497/2809564/view

This is Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon with the Yaquina Bay Bridge in the background.  The sun has just set but, there is enough light to give off magnificent color and reflections. Texture has been added to the photo to give it a more painting-like feel. This is 16 X 20 metal photo art work original and is for sale at: http://www.saatchiart.com/art/Photography-Yaquina-Bay-Sunset/746497/2802914/view

Just how many "Alvis's" have you driven lately? Yes, a 1931-32 "Alvis" automobile...not to be confused with an "Elvis" automobile!  The Alvis was manufactured by Alvis Car and Engineering Company from 1919 to 1967. Besides an auto designed for the general public, they also produced racing cars, aircraft engines, armored cars and other armored fighting vehicles. In 1965 they became a subsidiary of Rover but, only the manufacturing of armored vehicles continued. This is the Cap'n Kip Playground at the Historic Anchor Inn in Lincoln City, Oregon! One cool place to stay at or just plain visit. The Inn is the epitome of memorabilia...both inside and out! The kids can have their own room while the parents can have theirs! Wow! This print is available, 16x20 on metal @http://www.saatchiart.com/art/Photography-Cap-n-Kip-At-The-Historic-Anchor-Inn/746497/2812405/view

This is a Bandon Beach storm and a sunset at the same time. Bandon is on the Southern Oregon Coast just south of Coos Bay. It is home to Oregon's Islands and is one of the most pristine beaches in the world.  Check out an original metal print of this image: http://www.saatchiart.com/art/Photography-Bandon-Beach-Storm/746497/2804766/view

A bluff in Depoe Bay, Oregon that has somewhat of a New England flavor (except for the evergreen trees) if you check out the architecture.  Arch Rock, which I call this photo, is at the far left end of the bluff and is not visible. There is a gorgeous view of the Pacific from just about everywhere in Depoe Bay. This photo was taken from the balcony of the Tidal Raves Restaurant...this was where the restaurant scenes from the "Burning Plain" were filmed. Also, the fishing trip from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was filmed in Depoe Bay. More info at: http://1-thom-zehrfeld.pixels.com/featured/arch-rock-depoe-bay-thom-zehrfeld.html

Packard was an outstanding luxury automobile produced from 1899 to 1958. Pictured is a 1937 Packard Convertible. Probably Packard would still be around today if they had not bought Studebaker in the fifties to compete with Chevrolet...a major mistake that put them out of business. Most folks don't know that Packard outsold Cadillac until about 1950. More info at: http://1-thom-zehrfeld.pixels.com/featured/a-snappy-1937-packard-convertible-thom-zehrfeld.html

Introduction

Hi I'm Thom! I live in Newport, Oregon on the Central Coast. The experts have stated that we are destined to have a tsunami within the next 50 years on the Oregon Coast...I am kind of hoping that they forgot adding a zero to the 50!...since I am about a half mile from the beach!

My photography experience started with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was in the Marine Corps. In case you don't what a Brownie is, it is not just something you have for dessert.

Yes, I have won awards for my photography! Hopefully, I win more.

Please note: My art pieces on this website are protected by United States and international copyright laws, all rights reserved. Please do not copy, reproduce any of my photography without my written permission. The purchase of any my photography does not transfer reproduction rights.

There are many ways to get involved with my photography…on almost every budget level.

First, the food & view was wonderful.....end of the good things. All I could think of while I was in there was "LA Story" starring Steve Martin, " You can only afford to have the chicken"! It's expensive, folks! Once our waitress found out we were not going to have cocktails or appetizers, we were on our own like second class citizens. Valet parking? Wow! Come on! It will be awhile before I go back. It's a rip!
