Most babies are ready to start making the switch to a sippy cup between 6-9 months. By the time they're 12 months, its best to stop using the bottle altogether. If she's still having a hard time, offer a blankie or stuffed animal as comfort during her transition. #dentalFAQ

A sippy cup is a great way to give your child a bit more independence as they get older, and gain dexterity in their hands. But, be careful about what you serve them! Help keep cavities at bay by only filling their sippy cup with water, and not sugary fruit juice.

Have a tooth pulled? Here are a few tips to help manage the discomfort and promote healing! A mild painkiller such as Ibuprofen should be enough once the numbing wears off. Ask us! Rinse gently with warm salt water after 24 hours, as needed throughout the day. Relax after surgery. It’s a good time to let someone spoil you! Stick to soft foods like Jell-O or soup. Gradually add solid foods to your diet as healing progresses. Avoid using a straw to drink.

Want to keep bad breath away? Over-the-counter mouthwash can kill bacteria or neutralize odor, but its only a temporary fix. The longer you wait to brush and floss away the particles in your mouth, the longer your bad breath will linger. Try using a toothbrush or a tongue scraper to clear them out. #DentalFAQ
