Kind of weird on my G+ profile page it says "send a message" yet I am looking at my profile. Also, when looking at my profile page, how do I post? Am I just missing it?

Interesting conversation I had with @lynnluvah(http://www.lynnedjohnson.com/bio/) concerning mobile web. I really believe most marketing folks are still old school and the mobile web design does not excite them so it gets put on the backburner for development needs. It is a shame, particularly for retail, but there are still a lot of marketing folk that love the $25K photo shoot and big idea versus focusing on a sound bottom of the funnel strategy. What say you?

100% agree. It is just shocking how many DOMs, CMOs, etc. are not as conversion focused as they should be and would rather sit around and try to tink of the next big idea.

Reading about opera houses and theaters integrating Twitter seats and live blogs into their marketing strategies over the last couple years. The DOM at the Palm Beach Opera House said this:

"The goal isn’t so much to sell tickets as to broaden awareness of the opera and reach a younger generation of potential customers."

Statements like this have issue. Just because you get people that write about opera using social media does not mean you are reaching a younger audience. Platforms do not influence a new target audience, people do. A better strategy would have been to take someone that younger people identify with and allow them to share their new experience.

Just went past my eye doctor's office and on their digital board it says "Like us on Facebook." Lovely guy, and I do like him, but what a wasted message. Who randomly drives by and just likes pages?

Lots of discussion lately about "can I pick your brain" and the exploitation (sometimes) of asking for consultation without paying for the advice given. It really is a tough call. Being on the side of the digital industry where I do not build tangible items (design or code digital assets), I quite often get asked for recommendations and people want my intellectual property for free. But, some of these "freebies" have strengthened relationships and led to better things. Here is a perspective on why "picking your brain" is OK:
