Our Western civilisation is based on two principles,
1) The ethical golden rule (do unto others, treat people as you wish to be treated),
2) Critical thought, (question what you've been told to believe).

From them we derive our greatest defining principle:

Freedom.

The Islamic civilisation is based on two totally opposing principles;
1) Ethical dualism (one rule for the Moslem, another rule for the Kafir),
2) Authoritative thought (believe what you're told, or we'll kill you.)

From them, they derive their greatest defining principle:

Slavery.

Islam means "submission". Submission is slavery. Islam, and freedom, cannot co-exist. Our two civilisations are diametrically opposed ideologically, and in the end, only one will remain.

This woman unfortunately made a complete fool of herself at 31:50. She goes into quite a pathetic cultural relativist mode which was a real disappointment. She even tries to make an equivalence between Christian terrorism and Islamic terrorism. What a joke. Look at the terrorism stats.

The fact is that Islam has never stopped being at war, neither with the non-Moslem world, or with itself. Islam has been at war for 1400 years. This Jihad led to the crusades, which was a response to their aggressive expansion.

The fact is that Islam is an intrinsically hostile belief system, that mandates permanent warfare (Jihad), against the entire non-Moslem world (Dar al-Harb), for the sake of establishing a totalitarian, retrograde societal model (Sharia), in every country on Earth. This ultimate goal has always been exactly the same, ever since Islam's inception. No authority on Earth can change that fact. This ultimate goal is Islam's sole raison d'etre, and without it, Islam would simply have no reason to exist.

The fact is that Islam is less of a personal faith, and more of a fascist, totalitarian theo-political system with a vision of global conquest, that exists in a permanent state of war with the entire non-Moslem world.

The fact is that Islam has never been reformed, nobody has ever come up with a credible theoretical way to achieve a "moderate" or compatible version of Islam, and there are simply no indications of such a modernisation ever taking place.

This woman is simply parroting the bogus moral equivalence arguments made by the regressive left. She even talks about racism.

33:40 "Islam in particular has been vilified unfairly, it's been demonised unfairly, it's been caricatured unfairly, as an intolerant belief system, an intolerant social group, and an intolerant culture."
Shocking. She demonstrates a woeful ignorance of the core teachings of Islam, and a complete failure to understand is that Islam is today exactly as it was 1400 years ago: an intrinsically hostile, violent, supremacist, hate-filled, expansionist ideology, which is defined almost entirely by its ethical double standards, and it's hostility and intolerance to all those outside of the faith.

More than 60% of the text in the Koran is devoted to the Kafir, more than 80% of the text in Mohammed's biography is devoted to the Kafir. You can open up the Koran to any page and you will find a brutal denunciation of the Kafir, scorching hate-speech - typically combined with a description of how the Kafir will be punished in hell. Over 109 verses with open ended, eternal, divine commands - written in the imperative - urging the Moslems to fight the unbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. No restraining context and no expiry date. Not one of these verses has been abrogated.

"But actually, Christianity is much the same - it's increasingly intolerant"
 - The opposite is actually true. The intolerant and hostile elements of xtianity have been largely ignored or toned down dramatically over the last few centuries to the point where it is now a shadow of its former self. There are no major denominations of Christianity that still believe the penalty for apostasy is death, or that critics should be beheaded, or that gays should be killed, or that women should be stoned for adultery... just a quick glance at the Pew Polls conducted in the Moslem world is enough to see that the shocking levels of commitment to these ideas are the widely held norm, throughout the Moslem world. Moslem extremism is not extreme among Moslems.

While those other monotheisms still have their small fringes of isolated loonies... Islam is all fringe, and no centre.

The persecution of Christians is not exaggerated, it is very real - it's happening right now all around the Moslem world, Christians and Jews, and other religious minorities are living as dhimmis, with reduced rights, being unapologetically attacked, victimised, persecuted and slaughtered and this is something that Western leaders and media remain silent on, including many Christians, because they are apparently unaware! In the Sudan, Nigeria, the Middle East, Pakistan, it's the same story, and this is something she displays a sickening insensitivity towards.

The only "reform" that occurred within Islam was Salafism - a revivalist movement based on nothing more than a direct return to the intolerant, violent, fundamental teachings of the Koran and Mohammed, with a literalist interpretation of the texts.

Whereas, the reform within the Judeo-Christian faiths during the enlightenment was a long, slow process of reformation, secularisation, and the result which you can see today, is that the intolerance and bigotry of Christians and Jews is just no-where near what it once was, and nowhere near the level of Islam's intolerance.

There is no moral equivalence. Moral equivalence is moral cowardice.

And yes, I'm an atheist. Just one who realises that not all religions / belief systems are exactly the same or equally hostile in the same way. This something that many other atheists seem to be incapable of recognising...

Tellerkraut (Claytonia perfoliata).
Die Pflanze ist essbar und enthält viele gesunde Inhaltsstoffe. Sie kann wie Spinat zubereitet werden... :-)
