This article is completely ridiculous.

Why should India embrace China or US or even any other country for that matter?

Let us begin with the main reason why India should not embrace China.

India is a FREE, OPEN and DEMOCRATIC country. Whereas China is an AUTHORITARIAN and TOTALITARIAN state.

What the above statement would mean are listed as follows,

1. India respects the sovereignty of other countries. Whereas China is an expansionist state.

2. India advocates open Media. Whereas China's Media is state controlled.

3. India endorses independent Judiciary. Whereas China's Judiciary is state controlled.

4. India is open to Dissidents. Whereas China destroys any voice of dissents.

5. India champions for the rights of its citizens. Whereas China quashes the basic rights of its people.

6. India follows ethical principle. Whereas China indulges in unethical behavior (Stealing Tech - Utter disregard for

others intellectual properties).

There are several other infinite reasons why India (or any other country for that matter) should NOT embrace China.

This is an opinion on India, from a realist,

India had a glorious ancient past, a weaker recent past that lost its glory to the imperialists, a struggling post world-

wars period and now a beginning of resurrection to past glory in the times to come as a stable country in a dynamically

changing world.

India is a giant, that is awakening or more precisely raising from the shackles of poor goverance of the past.
Indeed, We had lost quite a few of the opportunities in the past century.

Only in 1991, India took a monumental leap under PM Narasimha Rao and Finance Minister Manmohan Singh.
We began to reform ourselves and opened our market to get a glimpse of the contemporary world of that era.
By then, We had lost 13 years by then to China, who began to overhaul their economy in 1978.

Even the 1991 reform in an economist's opinion was only a COLD START.
Perhaps, the complicated democratic environment of our country could be attributed for this scenario.

Apparently, 2006 was a landmark year, when the initiatives towards Indo-US Civil Nuclear Deal began to take shape.
It became one of the important milestone that has significantly contributed to our foreign policy.
Post the Nuclear Deal, our foreign policy and economy has evolved at a relatively faster pace to maintain our regional

status-quo.

Needless to say, the constant corruption and massive scams has eaten away / slowed down our economic growth.
To raise from this Abyss, we wanted a patriot to lead our country.

As of 2006, we had lost nearly THREE DECADES to China.
We are still trying to catch-up to China and close the gap as much as possible in a democratic and ethical manner.

Now, almost a decade later, India has a bright prospect with the election of Narendra Modi as the PM of our country.
To become a GREAT or SUPER POWER, the country and its people has to endure a lot of tough measures and changes to rectify

the past mistakes.
Only the resilience will benefit us in the long run.

India is China's equal. India has been more than an equal in the past.
And India has every right to be so in the future. Perhaps even greater.

Atleast that is what the US believes, even though some of us doubt it.
The US openly endorses India to play a greater role in the NEW WORLD ORDER.
Whereas the cheap Chinese doesn't want India to rise.

China is a QUAGMIRE. It is a CYNICAL AUTHORITARIAN STATE that only endorses expansionists policy.
The CPEC and OBOR are all part of its sinister and devious plan to increase its sphere of influence across the globe.

In the past, a weak China was a prey of the Japanese, European, and American Colonial-Imperialism.
Now the Chinese government wants to prey on the countries that are economically and politically weaker.

India definitely does not want to embrace a Modern Imperialist.

India always have had the mettle to be independent and cherish its values that will inspire the rest of the world.
The only way New Delhi can counter the overwhelmingly close Sino-Pak relationship is by exploring the idea of a stronger Sino-Indian one.
