Hi Paul and Richard. On Friday, I spoke to Paul briefly about my cousin who has just started her teacher training and needs to visit a KS1 class. I thought she would love your school, and the grounds. I have given her both your names, so she is likely to be in touch this term. She is called Tabitha Rendell. thanks!

Using the learning line to self assess against the Learning Objective, and then I asked them to talk in mixed ability pairs. A lot of the listeners in fact upped their partners scores, demonstrating nicely those children who lack confidence, even thought they HAVE got it.

I loved my visit to Istead Rise on Friday to see forest schools in action. They were bug hunting, using a feely line blind folded, making fairy houses (sawing a twig, sticking it in the ground and resting a paper cone 'hat' on top) and cooking popcorn, all outdoors. All were busy, engaged, calm, and familiar with the woods. I especially like watching them saw twigs safely but not watched like hawks by the staff. Lovely space, and very inspiring! Please send my thanks to Mrs Timms and the other teacher.

I wanted to share a talk I was reminded of, thinking of so many of us teachers tired, stressed and worn out. Brene Brown talks about being wholehearted, taking risks, acting with courage. I llke how she shares her own journey with openness, especially about her own foibles and personality traits.
