New rule: If you do something horrible, like murder over 20 people, many of them children, you no longer deserve a name. You'll be spoken of only as "asshole" or something arbitrary.
No more media blitz with your name thrown up in lights. No "documentaries" about what made you do what you did.
You'll be forgotten as a defect, a sub-human aberration.
EDIT: I posted this in a comment below, but since this post is blowing up I want to put it "Above the break" it appears that this quote isn't actually by Morgan Freeman. The reason I've kept the post is because I agree with the sentiment of the statement. Something similar HAS been said by Roger Ebert: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?aid=/20031107/reviews/311070301/1023
(thanks to +Dan Monzelowsky
and +Mike Andrews
for showing me this one).
I didn't see that this quote was misattributed until after I posted it (and then posted by followup comment) I had no idea this post would blow up like it did when I was away from the computer. I'm sorry for any confusion it's caused, but I do want to thank people commenting below for keeping the conversation relatively civil.
