Wonderful food, and drinks at a decent price. It is a wonderful place to relax and have a good dinner. Great for dates or business.

It was my first time going to Bentara yesterday. I went for lunch and I was STARVING. I had the hot and spicy shrimp. I'm a big fan of spicy food and I chose the "regular" on the "spicy-ness" scale. They have mild, regular, medium and spicy. A friend of mine tried a chicken noodle soup and that wasn't too good. Portions are huge. I highly recommend sharing the soup. We were four and we easily shared one bowl of soup! All in all.. Great place to have lunch or dinner. Very good atmosphere. Very good and fast service.

Best food to taste if you are a food lover. Try Nasi Lemak, the best food you never get disappointed.

Horrific experience! Understanding that I this occurred on valentines day, the service was terrible!! We wanted our Tom Young soup to go and they threw it out and gave us a container of tap water!!! Luckily my girlfriend checked. This is my last time ever going to this restaurant. I recommend u do the same and if u haven't gone, stay away...

As a true Malaysian, I find the food disappoints. I am not a food snob, just wanted to have some good old food from the home country. What I found out was that the menu was modified to make it easy for locals, but did it in a way that even a most unassuming Malaysian had to be reminded that he/she is eating so-called Malaysian food in America. As mentioned by other reviewers, they modify the spiciness to customer's requests. That may be a good thing, but even the full spiciness that we asked for tasted bland. Our verdict is that to eat real Malaysian food, avoid this place. Malaysian restaurants in NYC Chinatowns (Manhattan and Flushing) are where one should go. There is one in Middletown called forbidden city that does fusion style menu, at least their Malaysian-style dishes give you the full flavor.
