Keyring Update!
.

Woah! Hold on to your seats! I know it's exciting, but this is just a minor refresh, not a major overhaul.

Here's the old setup: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+JonTaylor/posts/UnBsSLKq5Zn

I replaced the NFC tag with a more rugged one. It still does the same thing (links to a VCard file containing my contact details), but is robust and waterproof. It's the black bit of plastic. It's less than 5mm thick, light, waterproof and so far seems solid. (http://rapidnfc.com/item/420/nfc_keyfobs_hang_tags_round_keyfob_ntag216)

I also added a True Utility CashStash. It's an aluminium tube with a screw-top, sealed by a rubber grommet. It's robust and waterproof. It contains a £20 note (about $30), for emergencies. I had to fold the note really tightly, but the whole thing is pretty small and lightweight. (http://www.trueutility.com/collections/all-products/products/cashstash)

I think this means my keyring is now complete. Despite the new NFC tag and the addition of the CashStash, it's still smaller and lighter than it was when my car key was attached. I can still keep it in my front pocket along with my wallet.

I think I need to evaluate my wallet situation. STAY TUNED.

Keyring Upgrade
.

The USB sticks are Kingston DataTravellers. They're durable metal and don't have a cap to loose, so perfect for keyrings. I upgraded from a 32Gb DTSE9 (USB 1.0) to a 64Gb DTMC3 (USB 3.1). It has more capacity, is much faster and it's really tiny.

The Swiss Army Knife is a Victorinox Midnite Manager. Alongside the normal blade/scissors/flat screwdriver, it has a bright white LED light, plus a bottle opener that doubles as a Phillips screwdriver with a magnetic tip. It also has a ballpoint pen! It makes for a perfect "office survival tool". And it's tiny.

I removed my car key, since I hardly ever drive any more... I'll add it back when I need it.

I added an NFC tag that links to my contact details in VCard format, which can be imported by basically any phone/contacts app. I've ordered a more durable NFC keyring to replace this one as it seems a bit flimsy for keyring duty.

The whole lot is now quite a bit smaller than it used to be, meaning I can now comfortably keep my keys in my front pocket along with my wallet. Empty back pockets equals comfortable sitting.

I am more pleased about all of this than I have any right to be. #Optimised

The Future

A day of exciting deliveries.

"Huel" is basically Soylent, except made in the UK to UK RDAs. Been curious about this kind of thing for ages, though I can't say I like the name... Mixed some up but not tried it yet - for some reason I'm a little apprehensive. It'll be lunch for tomorrow. Smells pretty tasty though.

The Nexus 6P is really nice so far, though it is pretty huge! I'm sure I'll get used to it, though one-handed operation is going to suffer somewhat. Probably worth it for the beautiful screen though. The aluminium body feels good too.

Infinite Monkey Cage Podcast

Good shit.

Tempted to curate a list of my favourite podcasts somewhere. I keep posting them here, but my current list morphs frequently.

That's not to say my list is any good, and I must admit that it's made up of suggestions from others, so... I dunno, is it worth it?
