Kelly Johnson joined the 40/29 News Team in May 2010 after studying broadcast journalism at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Penn.
Johnson was a reporter in the River Valley for more than a year before joining the 40/29 News Sunrise team as a morning anchor with Derek Burleson.
She was raised in Pittsburgh and will always have a special place in her heart for the three-rivers, but is excited about living and working in Arkansas.
"Everyone I've met down here has been wonderful," she said. "It's exciting to be a part of a community where everyone is so well connected with one another."
Kelly's love for journalism came early when she was chosen to make the morning announcements for her elementary school. She followed that passion all the way through college where she was an anchor/reporter for Point Park's "U-View" television network newscast.
She interned at WESH-TV in Orlando in 2008, and then at WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh in 2009, where she helped with their coverage of the G-20 Summit.
She worked her way through college by spending her summers at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, portraying a popular storybook character.
Her most memorable story to date was covering the Albert Pike campground flooding catastrophe last year.
