North Carolina's suicide dive under the leadership of Gov. McCrory and the NCGOP Death Dance Band which runs the General Assembly has led to re-consider the possibility that this planet's technological civilization is unsustainable in the short term. This article recently published in the journal Astrobiology extends that view to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. There may have been many like us, all dead: http://online.liebertpub.com/doi/pdfplus/10.1089/ast.2015.1418

Trump, fired to Mars?

Upon hearing the announcement from NASA of water on Mars, Donald Trump immediately proclaimed that as president I will build a beautiful pipe from Mars to California to provide all the water Californians could ever need! It will be a wonderful pipe, with wonderful water, and you're going to love the Trump Mars pipe and Trump Mars water. When asked about the practicality of a water pipe from Mars to Earth, Trump replied that, I can build beautiful tall casinos so I can certainly build a pipe from Mars. I'll just hire smart people instead of the stupid, ugly people running our government and ruining our lives. I'm not going to tell you more details now because I don't want to alert the Martians to my plans. #herrtrump
