Yoga Loft is awesome! I went to my first class at Yoga Loft tonight. It was a beginner flow class with Rose. I practiced yoga a few years ago for about 6 months to a year, so I have a little exposure to the poses which I did find helpful. Yoga is not typically a painful experience, but one pose that is a bit painful for me is savassana or corpse pose. (For those of your that are completely new, this is when you literally lay flat on your back with legs and arms outstretched at the end of class.) For some reason it hurts my lower back when I lay flat on a hard surface and I usually have to bend my knees for relief. Towards the end of class, Rose had us do a back opener with a bolster. This felt a bit awkward at first as I have never used a bolster (I took yoga in a boardroom at work). When we went into savassana, I could lay flat with no pain! This was so incredible since it has always felt painful to me. The entire time in the pose I could not stop thinking about the fact that it did not hurt. Beyond that, Rose had a great personality and the studio had a great vibe. Even before I walked in I met a really nice student who is in the teacher training program there. I felt very comfortable for my first time in a public yoga studio. There was chanting and essential oil and I left feeling amazing. I am already planning to go back!

I've been taking yoga classes in this area for about five years. Yoga Loft is one of the best places on the Tampa side of the bridge. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the space, even though it's small, feels welcoming and cozy. The owner, Ashley, was incredibly nice and accommodating and helped me out with a new member deal. As far as the classes go, if you're not a fan of 'power yoga,' Melissa's class on Wednesday just might be your speed; the class is challenging without being overwhelming.

Very nice smaller studio with many excellent teachers, including Ashley, Melissa and several others. Parking can be a challenge at times (there is no lot), but they offer a great deal on memberships for those who like vinyasa and prefer late-afternoon and evening weekday classes. In the middle of a fun walkable area with lots to do before or after class.

I discovered Yoga Loft soon after I moved to Tampa...and thank goodness I did! This is an amazing studio. For me it's an intimate oasis where I can retreat to, and a community full of love and support. I love all of the teachers. The studio made such an impact on my life that I undertook yoga teacher training here. They have plenty of classes time options and a variety of class levels, I've witnessed many a first timer walk in the door and been guided through their first yoga practice with patience and grace. It's great value for first timers and for returning students.

I love Yoga Loft! I was looking for a studio nearby to Seminole Heights dedicated to yoga rather than taking classes at a gym with the bass beasty beat and cheerleader shouting of the cardio-pump class next door (not that there's anything wrong with that!). I was delighted to find this little studio tucked into the southern part of Ybor City. Every class I've attended has been led by a cheerful, supportive and knowledgeable instructor who knows how to guide students of varying levels of experience and ability through the poses. I started out with 5-class packs in early February and 2-week unlimited through March and then a one-month package in April until I was sure I'd stick with it. I recently signed up for the 3-month unlimited because I can't do without it now! I especially like that classes are not just limited to one hour- they are often an hour and 15 minutes or 90 minutes, so I always feel like I've gotten a lovely bendy little workout and an awesome relaxing shivasana to wind it all down and walk away feeling great. I have not compared their pricing with other studios, but they are in my budget and I've never been disappointed in a single class experience - and most importantly, the phenomenal teaching and great atmosphere has kept me motivated to actually GO even when I'm feeling less inclined to do so at the end of the day. That alone is totally worth the money in my opinion. One caveat: parking in the area can be a pain, and you WILL get a ticket if you try to park in the residents only spots after 6PM- even if you get there before 6. Do yourself a favor and find a public two-hour spot even if you have to walk the distance, or go to the pay lot up one block on the other side of the street. It's worth the walk!

I don't usually review things, but I am very happy with this studio. They provide a friendly, fun atmosphere where the teachers help me to advance my practice. Every class I've been to is building towards more advanced postures. I feel like it will really speed my learning and capabilities.
