Memories of St. Nicholas:

My first visit in 2001 to St. Nicholas [was] with my mom on our lunch hour . A beautiful little church indeed....[It] felt like I stepped into a piece of heaven.

Reflections on the Ground Blessing of St. Nicholas:

The scripture readings were incredibly powerful and reminded me that what we do as Orthodox is part of a larger story.

Reflections on the St. Nicholas Ground Blessing:

I attended with my wife and daughter. Throughout the ceremony I was thanking the Good Lord he granted me the opportunity to be there. Never was I so proud to be a Greek Orthodox Christian as I was today. To stand at the base of the World Trade Center and make the sign of the cross in open air with thousands of fellow Christians brought tears to my ears with pride and joy. It is by far something I will always cherish in my heart and soul. Thank you to all those who orchestrated this beautiful event.

Reflections from the St. Nicholas Ground Blessing:

I would just like to say that I was extremely impressed with the organization and solemnity of the ceremony. It was quite apparent that God was with us on that day.

Memories of St. Nicholas:

My fondest memory of St. Nicholas was when I went there on June 2, 1985 - the day before I left for Navy Bootcamp - and received Communion. The priest blessed me and told me not to be nervous, that St. Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors and he would watch over and protect me. I went and received Communion every year after that on my name day.
