Breaking my virgin Hawaii experience with my wife, we decided to try Roy's in Waikiki based on brilliant website reviews. Wow, what a meal from start to finish. Hands down the best chicken springs rolls that have blessed my taste buds. Followed by what can only be described as spectacular mains. If you don't try the duck and ribs - you will go home feeling less than impressed with your decision. My hot chocolate lava cake hasnt even come out from the kitchen and Roy's is up there with my all time favourite restaurants. Roy....i love you, thank you for making me somewhat aroused at your dinner table.

I went into Roy's with low expectations (thought it might be average or overly touristy) and came out extremely impressed. First of all the service was outstanding, with friendly waiting staff who were always nearby to clear plates, refill water, bring out more drinks and cutlery for each course, and offering helpful suggestions on the menu. This review is for the tasting menu that I highly recommend. The value of the tasting menu can't be beaten. The portions for each course were generous for a three course meal and I definitely left feeling full. The appetizers and short ribs were great, the souffle was spot on, and the beer selection was pretty decent for Hawaii. For $50 per person ($70 with wine pairings) I felt like the value was definitely there. I was impressed enough that I was tempted to go back during my stay. Definitely recommend checking out the tasting menu when in Waikiki.

Just ok. We had 2 rolls and the ribs. Ribs were too sweet for my taste. Sushi was just ok. I've definitely had better. Service was excellent and ambience was nice.

Great service! Starters we had are super tasty and well prepared! Value for money. The only thing is that main courses are extremely expensive for this kind of place, does not correspond three dollar sighs. I would come there again for the starters and deserts.

In my opinion, Roy's is the best restaurant on the island. They have truly mastered "Asian Fuision" cuisine here. Everything is good, from the complimentary edamame, to any of the sushi dishes, and all cooked entrees as well. The molten lava cake is a MUST-HAVE!!! Tell the waiter early in your meal if you plan on ordering it (you DO plan on ordering's incredible), because it takes time for them to bake/prepare it.
