Sight Fishing Success at Paco continues!
Jeremy Lico and Matt McCannel had an amazing day at Paco with an added bonus of Landon Mayer begin their impromptu photographer! Thanks Landon for the great shots! and if we haven't said so, WINTER is the time to be here for big fish!!!

See what Jeremy had to say about his day with RIGS head guide Matt McCannel:

I want to take a moment to let everyone know about my amazing experience with Matt from RIGS. From the start of process to finish, the service was excellent. When I inquired about the trophy trips, Matt took the time to line me out on what to expect, what the possibilities were and what I would need. Upon an impromptu visit to RIGS shop, Matt took the time to make sure I was well outfitted at a fare price (trips come equipped, but I needed new waders anyways).
As for the trip itself,,,,, BEST DAY of fishing I've ever experienced! I met Matt at our destination where he greeted me with great excitement about the fish he had found me the prior day. We then made our way to the water where Matt touched me up on my skills to make sure I was ready for what we were about to do.(I hadn't fly fished in 5+ yrs). Quickly I tied into a couple small fish and found at least enough groove to not untangle every cast. We worked our way to the hole where the beast was spotted the day before. After about 45 min to an hour, we spotted her. Within a few minutes she worked her way to her hiding spot. I made a couple casts to the spot we figured she was and got a very hard bite and loss. Never saw if it was her, but we were pretty sure it was. We worked the river down picking up a good number of respectable Browns and even my first cutthroat. By lunch time I had put over a dozen very nice fish in the net. We broke for lunch and Matt asked the question, " do you want to catch a bunch of fish or go back after the big one?". I didn't have to even think. I told him " I've already caught a bunch of fish. I want that one! Let's go picture hunting". He got a big smile on his face and we headed back to the hole. We watched a few minutes and quickly saw a swirl. She was back. And she was feeding. She even made a half body breech to welcome us back. We worked the afternoon glare making a couple casts at her. Then we lost her. Matt repositioned across the river to spot for me. He spotted her again and directed me on fly placement. About the 5th cast, my indicator went down and Matt signaled "now". I set up. The solid thud was that of tying into a huge salmon. The fight was on. Matt coached me the entire time. In the end, we landed a 28.5"x17" girth brown. I'm guessing somewhere between 15-17 lb. Matt then took the time with the help of a fellow guide to take the best pictures possible as well as tape measure it and photograph it close enough to allow me to be able to get a replica if I so desire. Such the amazing day!!! I encourage anyone to use Matt and Rigs to help themselves catch their dream fish or just have an outright awesome trip. My only piece of advice, if you want the trophy, be ready to be patient and be willing to take coaching. Both well worth it. Thank you so much Matt!!! I will never forget this day. ~ Jeremy Lico
