Connect applications in memory is now available, which allows to write a Python script chaining multiple applications and connect them in memory, no more disk I/Os!
Random Forest based on the machine learning library Shark is now available in all OTB machine learning tools
More sampling strategies have been added to the classification framework released in previous versions.
OTB documentation for non developers aka the “Cookbook” has been migrate in RST (nicer, better, faster…)

OTB User Days 2016 in June and SFPT OTB/MicMac Summer School in July

Please find below reminders about two OTB events happening this summer:

- OTB User Days (7 to 9 June in Toulouse)
- Summer School on open source software for satellite image processing (from 4 to 8 July in Marne-la-Vallée, close to Paris)

OTB User Days 2016:

Orfeo Toolbox team is happy to announce the second edition of the OTB User Days to be held from 7 to 9 June 2016 in Toulouse. The event will be held at "La Serre" [1], easily accessible by public transport (metro station "Patte d'Oie") . If necessary, we will try to stream some sessions on the web.

If you are interested , please add your name in the " Who? " section on the OTB wiki [2] and fill the survey [3] to indicate your participation before the end of April. It will help us to organize lunches and coffee breaks.

The wiki page contains all the information about the event and its organization. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you wish to participate more actively (present your work with OTB, sponsored the event, help with the organization...).

Registration for "Summer School on free open source software for satellite image processing":

The SFPT, CNES and IGN/ENSG organize their first summer school on satellite image processing using free and open source software from 2016-07-04 to 2016-07-08 at ENSG in Marne-la-Vallée (close to Paris).

More specifically this summer school will be based on Orfeo Tool Box (OTB) and MicMac. OTB is an open-source toolbox funded by CNES for satellite image processing and remote sensing (classification, segmentation…). MicMac, coordinated by IGN, is a complete photogrammetric pipeline recently adapted to satellite image processing. Three day of practical work are scheduled on Gnu/Linux environment (no prerequisite, except the ability to adapt to line command software).

The link to register:

The number of place is limited to 20 in each language (one track in English/one track in French). Registration will be processed on the principle "First arrived/first served". Please note that we cannot guarantee your place more than 15 days after registration if payment did not arrived. Please find attached a more detailed description of the summer school.

Save the dates! We look forward to seeing you all there!
