Steadfast Hope.
The sermon by Rev. Jeanne Randall-Bodman presented on Sunday, April 17, 2016.

“The greater danger to me seems not to be that we are going to be persecuted in America for being Christian, but that we are over-identified with the cultural and economic norms of the American culture. So much so that the teachings of Jesus on wealth and poverty, and the locus of meaning in believers' lives sometimes seems to be forgotten… and it is to this forgetting that I want to turn my attention.”

To Be Healed.
The sermon by Rev. Jeanne Randall-Bodman presented on Sunday, April 10, 2016.

“But, here’s the thing. Terrible things DO just happen to people. The Gospel does not protect us from that reality. It does give us a deeper reality to hold fast to: that beautiful things also happen, that life and love will ultimately be stronger even than death, and that in the midst of the pain and the beauty of life, we are not alone. The miracles of healing, and life, and joy that do happen are like harbingers of God’s realm. And I do believe that they happen, but I don’t know why they happen sometimes and not others.”
