Join us tonight for the Fourth Annual Caesar and Patricia Tabet Poetry Reading tonight at 7 p.m. in the Lund Auditorium. Our featured poet is Luis Alberto Urrea, Pulitzer Prize finalist for nonfiction and member of the Latino Literature Hall of Fame. Dominican University's Culinology Team was selected as a finalist in a pastry competition in the Research Chefs Association’s conference next month in Puerto Rico. You can enjoy delicious food with Puerto Rican influences and help support them and Dominican’s Student Nutrition and Dietetics Association during a fundraiser Friday, Feb. 17, from 5:30-7:30pm in the Parmer Hall Atrium. $25 per person, $10 for Dominican students.

Political commentator and journalist Salim Muwakkil will lead a panel discussion on Wednesday, January 18 as part of Dominican's celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy. The discussion, titled "Assessing the MLK Legacy: The State of Race After Obama's Historic Presidency," will be held at 6 p.m. in the Lund Auditorium.

The Dominican University Department of Athletics, in conjunction with the university's Thanksgiving Baskets program, collected more than 10,000 items for baskets to be donated to families in the Austin and Humboldt Park neighborhoods in Chicago for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  The Stars' effort was one of three schools from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) that raised 10,000-plus items as part of the conference's annual Cans Across the Conference food drive.
