A dedication to the labourers of the world

This article comes a day late but it is dedicated to the workers of the world. Labour day in Singapore is on the 1st of May every year. Today is 2nd of May. Anyone who bothers about Labour day, read on. There is no labour in this world that does not need…

I just searched the web for any death threats or threats to the BRF. There are none so far. However I am wondering if they are experiencing the same kind of disturbances I am experiencing locally since the 'dismissal' of my previous employment and the raising of my 'dismissal' to MOM.

I do not know why MOM would think that FX has a hand in my 'dismissal' and if they do what kind of grounds does FX have to influence the outcome?

and if there is any historical evidence that anyone should be aware of about underhanded skulduggery, the life of Cyrano De Bergerac should be the concern of me and the family.

To all the LGBTs, I do feel for your struggles especially in places where it is considered as a crime or even sinful. But live the life with dignity and love, and when you do you are braver than those hypocrites who do not deny their wrong-doings to anyone (or me) in public.

For those who are man enough, they should do the right thing with the right intentions to the right person at the right time for the right reasons.

Great Britain or Little England?
After reading The Economist article (Nov 9th to 15th 2013), it seems to me that the UK has to look within to see without and beyond.

It is inevitable that most developed nations will have to face the immigration issues; either with good measures for social integration and/or an openness to the diversity with some social and economic expectations/benefits.

When UK looks within, it knows that there are many external forces pulling it apart or binding it together. And when these external forces are known then UK can look without UK to look for common grounds in economic and social issues that will affect the politics of the nation.

When UK looks without themselves, it is in every and any directions and opportunities that they might find themselves. The UK does not own the world and the world does not owe UK any favours or explanations.

What's important is UK should not be bonded by any promise of "social contracts" that has no guarantee but binds them to endless social burdens that are destructive than disruptive, let alone productive.

From personal experience in Asia and to the lesser Asia of ASEAN, the kind of pragmatism I live in becomes too unproductive and often destructive (it is hardly disruptive as no one bothers to change their mindset, hence perceptions), so much so that most things have been taken for granted, not to mention, abused and covered up. And what do they gain in return from such pragmatism?

I observed two schools of thoughts:
1. an over-politeness in the social scene that eschews constructive criticism in favour of superficial harmony that breeds naïveté or hypocrisy, and certainly unskillful sincerity;
2. An ignorance of other knowledge that is not practical for any economic gains and resulting in narrowly (also shallowly) ignoring these knowledges regardless of whether they have any intellectual merits.

If greed is the root of all evil, then perhaps knowledge should be the root of goodness. It seems that goodness does not have much pragmatism but pragmatism necessarily has some good.

However the goodness in the pragmatism has an irony in it; it demands so much goodness in order to be pragmatic that the goodness reeks of a deliberate attempt of being good without a deeper meaning for beauty in the phrase "beautiful actions come from beautiful person aiming at beauty." And that makes life mechanical and routinely bound by boredoms.

When life is mechanical, it lacks poetry. When poetry is missing, the beauty of life loses it's colors, vibrancy and randomness. Creating life becomes a burden and hopeless activity; sex becomes utilitarian rather than bonds of love and any excitement to the unknown becomes a fear of failure and ridicule.

To all those that show their 2 cents worth of antics on TV, do as you please. You do not need my approval and neither do I seek yours.

If all was amiable and cordial things would not have come to this stage today.

I was home finding out what was going on and though I know now it is still circumstantial. But when I see those antics displayed by those monkeys see monkeys do, I know they will use my reactions against me because that was what they had been doing all along.

So I am a democratic person and do jot coerce anybody to suit anyone. If virtues can be taught only smart people are reasonable. Unreasonable people are not smart and can even be hostile and hypocritical.

Have a good weekend.

The shadow 'institution'.

Influenced by the laws, regulation and institutional visions and missions we, the people and labour, are the shadow ‘institutions’. Without laws, people’s behaviour will run amok; without regulations, people’s actions will be nonchalant; without the…

Dream on Liverpool…dream on.

Sing with me, sing it for the year
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

Dream on, dream on, dream on,
Dream until your dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on,
And dream until your dream come true
Dream on [7x]

I got my mind set on living. When I choose to live, I also choose to love because even if there is no one left to love, there is only loving love…to the family I dedicate this song.
