I posted a few days ago about death #Threats in #Schools . no one grabbed on and replied. I will try this again, in light of this morning's news of yet another #SchoolShooting .

How do you react to a threat of death/gun violence in school? What is the appropriate measure of reaction? Who do you contact? What reaction should you expect from the school staff? Does student age make a difference anymore? What should happen to the threatener? What types of threats deem what types of reaction?

Open dialog.... Aaaannnd GO!

I never, NEVER, share #cat stuff. Not a cat fan, but this amuses me immensely.

EcS Gaming Annual "Get Together" is happening this weekend. No LAN this year. there wasn't a big enough one centrally located enough for our nationwide group. There needs to be more #LAN activity in the Illinois area. that central location makes it happen for us. The last good one was the #ShowdownLan in Peoria, IL, several years ago.

2 things...I don't know why this is real, and I don't know why it makes me laugh.

#ManageYourGooglePlusExperience
I have recently gained quite a few followers, in an extremely short amount of time. I generally filter them as they come in and sort them appropriately. I have a plethora, man I love "The Three Amigos", of circles to manage my contacts.

Behind the scenes everyone is "labeled". Yes, that sounds ugly, but if you don't make a few snap judgments and categorize your contacts, you cannot manage the flow if information in and out of your G+. I recommend not falling victim to societal pressure. It HAS to be ok to label people in your social interaction. You do it sub-consciously in life; you just have to do it formally here on G+.
I have tiers for people I don't know. I am sure there are predators out there working on schemes to dupe people from G+. Starting good habits early on, will help you in the future when the 1000’s of people following you see what you are doing daily.

Here is a peek at what I do:

• There is a tier for fresh followers that I have not vetted yet. I toss them in there so I can filter the content and validate their value in sharing.

• There is a tier for people that have value and I want to see everything they share. They have exhibited the ability to control their content sharing and only put out the best of the best, not just some vomit of every cool thing they see. (~pukes~ from re-living the Facebook stream on the right side of the page. ick!)

• There is a tier for people that share some amazing things that are interesting but have no "off" switch. Bless their little hearts, they are trying, but way too hard or just have no impulse control. I don't block them because they have a few gems now and again.

• There is a tier for people that I'm undecided on. I need more information or time to vet them. Perhaps they don't share often enough for me to know their inherent overall value to me as a source of information.

• There is a tier for Personal Friends. (RL-real life and OL-on-line)

• There is a tier for Buddies. (people I know but not well enough to call friend.)

• There is a tier for Acquaintances. (People I know through other people or just peripherally.)

• There are multiple groups from interests I have.

I have many others to sort out what happens here. The concept is sound, IMO.

How do you handle your stream?
How do you handle the people you follow?
How do you handle the people who follow you? (i.e. control your content flow out)
