Building off of the successful launch of the redesigned #ADMETPredictor™ 8, many substantial enhancements have been made throughout version 8.1 to improve performance.

The most significant is that ADMET Predictor 8.1 is now available as both 32- and 64-bit executables! Additionally, interface functions and model-building processes have been optimized to more effectively handle large data sets. Below are a few of the items that will be discussed in the webinar:

• ADMET property prediction takes about 20% less time with the 64-bit executable
• Now Available in the MedChem Studio Module - Combinatorial substituent and scaffold replacement!
• All ten Ames #mutagenicity models and the #CYP3A4 substrate model have been rebuilt to include confidence estimates. New models have broader applicability domains.
• Custom models built with version 8 can be automatically transferred to version 8.1!
• Model-building activities, including data loading and training/test set selection, have been optimized for speed in the ADMET Modeler™ Module
• ADMET Risk™ rule violations can be displayed in a #histogram
• … and more!

The Biological Modeling Specialty Section (BMSS) is sponsoring a webinar series on mathematical modeling with specific emphasis on physiologically based pharmacokinetic model applications.

Topic: Understanding Dermal Drug Disposition Using TCAT—A Novel PBPK Model

Date and Time: Thursday, February 16, 2017 | 11:00 AM EST

Description: Skin is the major organ in the human body with a highly complex barrier that serves as protection from the external environment. Predicting dermal and systemic exposures of drugs following topical application is especially challenging when considering the impact of formulations. Scientists from GlaxoSmithKline and Simulations Plus have collaborated to develop a mathematical model, Transdermal Compartmental Absorption & Transit (TCAT™) that allows better understanding of drug penetration through the skin while accounting for the formulation characteristics, evaporation and precipitation effects that influence dermal delivery. The talk entitled “Understanding dermal drug disposition using TCAT—a novel PBPK model” will focus on details of the TCAT model and what it offers. Following the completion of the seminar there will be time for questions and answers.

Registration is required for this event. #GastroPlus

In the #cosmetics, food, and #chemical industry a primary objective is to identify compounds that meet the primary endpoints, e.g. a lipstick with a bright, beautiful color.

Following this, you have to assess if the molecule responsible for the color has any toxic effects. How do you prioritize which #toxic endpoints to evaluate? #ADMET property prediction… when you need it!

$SLP Announces Quarterly Cash Dividend of $0.05 Per Share

Walt Woltosz, chairman and chief executive officer of Simulations Plus, said: “This dividend declaration is a continuation of the Board’s plan to distribute a cash dividend of $0.05 per share per quarter. Of course, the board always has the discretion of discontinuing, increasing, or decreasing the dividend in accordance with the cash needs of the business.”

This workshop is appropriate for scientists working in preclinical and clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics who want an in-depth understanding of how the highly interactive processes of absorption
(passive and carrier-mediated), metabolism in the gut and other tissues, and whole-body distribution affect PK and PD. Although the course will use GastroPlus for all case studies, the guiding principles will be taught in a software-independent manner.
This is an advanced course – a prerequisite is familiarity with setting up and running basic GastroPlus simulations, including database and support file structures, basic inputs for physicochemical and formulation parameters, and basic physiology options for human and animal simulations, as these items will not be covered in this course due to time constraints. If you are not yet familiar with all of these concepts, you can
gain the required familiarity in our “Introductory GastroPlus™ Simulation and Modeling Workshop” that will be held immediately preceding this workshop.

Attendance for this event is limited, so register today!
