I've been going to Dr. Fannin (nee Nguyen) for about 8 years now, and have always been impressed with not only the doctor, but her staff's knowledge and dedication to service. I've dealt with lots of GP's, and the knowledge and dedication to quality exibited by the staff can make all the difference, from recognizing who you are, and making sure the Dr. has the correct records, to saving you tens of thousands in medical bills/fights over same with your insurance company. In my experience, I've seldom run across a better supporting staff than Dr. Fannin's. They are consistently thorough, relaxed, and knowledgeable. Dr. Fannin herself is obviously the inspiration and source of this discipline and efficiency. For the past 7years or so, I found her to be an excellent doctor, taking systemic factors into account and open to discussing alternative approaches, compassionate, and resourceful. Last year, I suffered a massive pulmonary embolism, a life-treatening condition evidenced by shortness of breath in which speed of treatment is of the essence. I thought I must have some weird bronchitis, but within about 1/2 a sentence of telling her my symptoms, Dr Fannin stopped me, and turned her staff loose. Within 10 minutes, her staff had scheduled an immediate CAT scan at a close-by lab, AND pre-cleared the procedure with my insurance company. As soon as the tech had said "oh, my," I let Dr. Fannin know, and she not only called up Breckenridge emergency room and told them I was coming, but had my file sent over to the emergency room, and it was sitting out on the desk by the time I walked in the door. Pretty cool, but I was even more blown away when she showed up in my hospital room first thing the next morning, to make sure that both the resident and the attending physicians had all my information, had read that information, and discussed my treatment with them to ensure that I got the best care possible. She proved to be instrumental in keeping me in the observation unit until I was clearly out of the woods, (as evidenced by actual test results, rather than the resident pysician's desire to turn the bed). She also kept up contact with all doctors involved throughout my stay in the hospital, and has continued to act as my chief patient advocate throughout my recovery process. I would've been happy to give Dr. Fannin 4 stars prior to my hospital stay, but after this experience, I'd recommend her without reservation to anyone.
