If you’re reading this, you should thank GRACE HOPPER
She is one of the most under appreciated computer scientists in history. She wasn’t just an admirable US Navy Officer, but also a computer scientist, who worked on computers BACK WHEN THEY TOOK UP ENTIRE ROOMS! She is a PIONEER, who invented the first compiler, or program that translates a computer language like Java or C++ into machine code, called assembly, that can then be read by a processor. Every single program you use, every OS and server, was made possible by her first compiler.
