I am going to let you know that you are probably not going to be happy with what I am about to say, but I feel I need to say it. There has been many posts going around today that talk of an individual G+ member taking other peoples photos and uploading them to his G+ page. While I am not a proponent of someone taking images and acting as if they are their own....do I care or worry about this.... not really!
In reality I know I will get flame mail for this but, I don't care if some guy takes a photo that I posted publicly on G+ and puts it on his blog or his google+ page. Do I want credit? Yes of course! Do I have the time to track them all down...no. I am much more in line with and 's use of a CC licence that allows for NON COMMERCIAL use of their images (which does state the need to give credit). In actuality I am almost 100% certain I am moving that way shortly anyway. As long as someone is not selling my work to make money or using my work to get jobs, I don't have the time to care all that much about this.
Is this guy making money off these prints? Is this a corporation using any of these photos for their website to pull in revenue? Is this guy landing gigs because he acts like these images are his? If the answer is no to all of these, then I have better things to do with my time.
pssst....if you want to truly protect your work so that no one sees it and you can't sell any prints or land any jobs, take all your work off the net...my little secret of the day...
There you have it...flame away :)
